It sure looks to me like the USA has been cooling since the 1930s – 1940s Dust Bowl era.
The Koppen boundaries based on plants certainly does not look like the USA has been warming since the first half of the 20th Century

In many ways, the Y2K scare is a lot like the AGW scare (except it was of a much shorter duration). And as noted, it offered an opportunity for sneaky adjustments that once long passed, could then be fraudulently used.
