Science Vs. Junk Science In 1932

Gavin Schmidt at NASA tells us that people in 1932 didn’t know how to read thermometers.

They did however know how to split atoms, and precisely calculate the energy balance of converting Lithium into Helium.

Meanwhile, Gavin’s moron brethren (on the same page as the above article) were parroting the same glacier melting idiocy which we suffer through today.

Martin’s grandfather was leading the parade of obsessive-compulsive alarmists in the ’30s 😉

    • Leading? No, the Martin Smith family has been followers for generations. Phineas Smith spent his life savings ($453) promoting Piltdown Man, and Ezechial Smith taught that the phlogiston theory was accepted by 97% of all alchemists even after Lavoisier and the deniers proved it was wrong.

I am convinced that half of the worlds problems are caused by people taking neurotic Bastards and Bitches seriously. Most of the remainder can be attributed to electing them to office.

Different names, and faces, same cast of characters.

He who controls language controls thought, and he who controls thermometers controls the climate.

‘Klimate-Change’ Kooks Suffer New Setback: Ancient Tropical Forest Found in Norway

Mother Nature is doing a good job of debunking the alarmists.

Well this morning it’s sunny and there is some of that white stuff that once upon a time less than a decade ago some of the prognosticators of doom claimed would become a thing of the past very soon. My 10 month old granddaughter spent the night with us and she now knows what snow looks like. We bundled her up and carried her out yesterday when the snow started so she could catch the giant snow flakes that come when the temp is balancing near freezing. And look up into the sky and see them falling.

Allison also knows what fire is because yesterday before the snow started I went out and brought in a good stock of wood (A mix of wild cherry, ash, and Chinese elm) and all yesterday afternoon and this morning I’ve had one going in the fireplace.

Time sure does fly. Earlier this week my wife had me go up in the attic to bring down a Tiny Tots desk we had for my first granddaughter, Corbin, which is now a freshman in college. I brought it down and written on the top in red erasable marker in Corbins hand was:
    “Corbin
    6 years old”
My wife took a pic of that and sent it to Corbin and her mother before she scrubbed down the desk and all the magnetic letters and numbers that the desk top contains to get it ready for Allison. Still have a ton of stuff in the attic saved from from when we had Corbin here that will come down at the appropriate time for Allison and so suspect more reminders of things past will be revealed.

    • Jason Calley says:

Hey rah! NOAA tells me that the “Corbin 6 years old” data has been krigged, homogenized and corrected for TOBs and urban warming. The desk now says, “Kilroy was here, 97 years old.”

Have you forgotten “The Population Bomb?” Have you forgotten Paul R. Ehrlich? Shame!

Ehrlich can beat the same drum that he used in 1968–Earth has too damned many damned humans (especially dark-skinned humans) and “reproductive rights” had to be limited. Taking reproductive rights away from people is a crime of genocide, according to the United Nations. Ehrlich has a seat on the Global Warming bandwagon. Not that he’s an original thinker–Thomas Robert Malthus wrote the book on overpopulation in 1798 and Ehrlich can be called a copycat.

The roots of “Anthropogenic Climate Change” are deep.

Malthus is on-line in several editions–I read Malthus in the 1980’s about a decade after reading Ehrlich. Look up Ehrlich’s current activism. Be a “denier” or scream about reducing the excessive numbers of breathers–your choice! You can’t win this because it isn’t a debate–it’s a war against the human race.

So, melting glaciers were going to flood downtown Manhattan before CO2 was even a problem. What went wrong?
