Well this morning it’s sunny and there is some of that white stuff that once upon a time less than a decade ago some of the prognosticators of doom claimed would become a thing of the past very soon. My 10 month old granddaughter spent the night with us and she now knows what snow looks like. We bundled her up and carried her out yesterday when the snow started so she could catch the giant snow flakes that come when the temp is balancing near freezing. And look up into the sky and see them falling.
Allison also knows what fire is because yesterday before the snow started I went out and brought in a good stock of wood (A mix of wild cherry, ash, and Chinese elm) and all yesterday afternoon and this morning I’ve had one going in the fireplace.
Time sure does fly. Earlier this week my wife had me go up in the attic to bring down a Tiny Tots desk we had for my first granddaughter, Corbin, which is now a freshman in college. I brought it down and written on the top in red erasable marker in Corbins hand was:
“Corbin
6 years old”
My wife took a pic of that and sent it to Corbin and her mother before she scrubbed down the desk and all the magnetic letters and numbers that the desk top contains to get it ready for Allison. Still have a ton of stuff in the attic saved from from when we had Corbin here that will come down at the appropriate time for Allison and so suspect more reminders of things past will be revealed.

Malthus is on-line in several editions–I read Malthus in the 1980’s about a decade after reading Ehrlich. Look up Ehrlich’s current activism.
