Katharine Hayhoe : The Ultimate Junk Scientist

During the record hot and dry summer of 2011 in Texas, Katharine Hayhoe determined that it was the new normal, and that the number of 100 degree days was going to go through the roof.

No End in Sight for Texas Drought

In fact, the exact opposite is happening. The number of 100 degree days in Lubbock has been declining since the 1930s.

The average summer maximum temperature has also been declining.

And summer precipitation  has been increasing.

Katharine Hayhoe cherry picked a single outlier, and declared it to be a trend. Junk science doesn’t get any worse than that.

The 2011 new normal lasted all of one year. Nowhere nearly as long as the new normal of the 1930’s.

97% of climate experts, including the esteemed Dr. Hayhoe, agree that the 1930’s new normal was entirely caused by evil white males raping the soil with their plows, actually trying to (horrors!) work to make a living. It would have been so much better for all concerned if the Government had just paid them welfare and let them sit around and smoke weed!

How can the Texas Tech Board of Governors justify having her on the staff?
It is so obvious that she is totally incompetent.
    I find that unbelievable.

Texas Tech is not a highly regarded university in Texas. Students who cannot qualify for Texas A&M or the University of Texas attend Texas Tech

That is fine but there is this guy named Andrew Dessler that is a Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at A&M. IMO he is a nastier beast than Hayho because not only do his opinions on AGW agree with hers but he is quite ruthless in dealing with anyone who’s opinions on the subject do not agree with his.
