One of the standard progressive responses to historical newspaper articles and photographs which disprove White House claims, is that they can’t be trusted because they are “old.”
By definition, history is old. There are good reasons why the White House doesn’t want people to know what happened in the past.

True, It doesn’t fit with the ‘control the message completely’ crowd.
The White House uses the same excuse for evidence pertaining to the multiple scandals.
Those who fail to remember past extreme weather events are doomed to state that all current extreme weather events are unprecedented.

That’s why historic temp data cannot be trusted, it’s old and was read by old people.
