BORG: Why do you resist us?
CRUSHER: Because we don’t want to live the way you do.
BORG: Here it is quiet. There are no other voices.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Progressives, maybe this explains it, sung by Ol’ Blue Eyes

.. if that doesn’t make you tear up, you just ain’t human …
I used to skipper a janitorial star ship. Some robot had sprayed C-beam glitter all over the Tannhauser Gate and we were on our way to clean it up. Due to a grease fire in the mess hall we had to pull up at the shoulder of Orion where we were approached by the Borg. Just for the hell of it I downloaded all the federal regulations into their main computer and the ship came to a halt. That was nearly 30 years ago and that Borg ship is still sitting there.
‘Early in the war a Union squad closed in on a single ragged Confederate. He obviously didn’t own any slaves, and he couldn’t have much interest in the Constitution or anything else. They asked him, “why are you fighting any way?” He replied, “I’m fighting because you’re down here”, which was a pretty satisfactory answer.’ – Shelby Foote, in Ken Burns “Civil War”
+1
Good episode. Hugh the Borg regaining his humanity. Crew debates whether to infect him with a computer virus and send him back to the collective.
Another tear jerker, this time sung by a little angel ….

Thank goodness they are here to define what’s good for us. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t include salt, meat and sugary beverages.
