Capracotta, Italy just received two metres of snow in one day.
Capracotta sommersa da oltre 2 metri di neve il 06 marzo 2015 – CMI
Fifteen years ago this month, climate experts announced the end of snow.
Global warming, the heating of the atmosphere by increased amounts of industrial gases, is now accepted as a reality by the international community.
Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.
“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.

Greeting from NSW, Australia 🙂
No chance of snow down here..
NICE and WARM !!! Doing it tough 😉 .. day off work tomorrow, just some lecture prep to do.
Ditto in Southern Arizona, USA: Tucson–40 F low last night, supposed to be 79 this afternoon, maybe 80 tomorrow. Beautiful blue skies, too! And this is winter here; spring begins 3/20. Loving it!

Doing it tough in Perth. Someone has to so why shouldn’t it be me.
😀
Seriously though..
How the heck do people cope with that sort of snow fall ??
And some people are scared of a tiny bit of warming… seriously ? !!!!!
That’s what bothers me, the stupidity of fellow Canadians who are afraid of it getting slightly milder.
That’s scary. Wake up trapped in your house and hope you didn’t have outer screen doors or day gates that opened out… otherwise they’d have to be turned into kindling.
Onians and Viner must be sick to the back teeth of being constantly reminded of their article and prediction. Ho ho. Bring it on, again and again and again. 🙂
If all that white stuff isn’t snow, what is it?
That town is at an elevation of 1421 metres.
The snow storm in Europe has broken the record for the most snowfall in 24 hours.
Records are being set all over the place this winter. Last summer, nowhere on earth were there any hot records set yet the global warmists announced that was the warmest year evah.
On a ski trip to Austria, we got nearly that much overnight. We could not open the front door of the hostel, and had to jump out of a second story window with a shovel to dig out the door. By lunch they had the roads clear to the slopes and it was awesome.
Elevation, 1,421 m (4,662 ft) and it’s a ski resort
so although 2m is impressive I guess if you check the historic weather then you’ll find they normally get a lot of snow.
“Winter 1956 in Abruzzo” At Capracotta in Molise
On February 10 – “new, heavy snowfalls … that road snow was over 4 meters (13 ft). But the situation was becoming more dramatic. In the following two nights new, abundant snowfalls blocked almost everything, everywhere.”
On Sunday, 11 March – “the snow had reached 5 mt (16 ft).”
Maybe Tony should have included this…
“In reality, it took only 18 hours. See many, many photos of super-snowfall.
“It’s official,” says meteoweb.eu. “Capracotta and Pescocostanzo, Italy, are the snowiest places in the world! The data is scary.”
256cm (8.34 ft) of snow Capracotta (which lies at 1,421 meters in the province of Isernia),
240cm (7.84 ft) in Pescocostanzo (which lies at 1,395 meters in the province of L’Aquila):
These are the two new records for snowfall in a span of only 24 hours, that is, in one day, although in reality all this snow fell in about 18 hours on Thursday, March 5, 2015.”

So yeah, it’s kind of a big deal.
So where is it? link
….is situated in Isernia, Molise, Italy, its geographical coordinates are 41° 50′ 0″ North, 14° 16′ 0″ East and its original name (with diacritics) is Capracotta.
I thought it would be in the north in the Italian Alps.
It is a bit south of Rome in the middle of the Italian peninsula.
They have more snow coming on Thursday.
I truly admire.

Man has a way with words. Seriously. I love this!! Keep it up.
My main worry is that because of the anti-environment propagation of wind turdines and solar cookers….

I found this comment amusing:
Just got back from Tonawanda, NY and they have about 3-4 feet of snow cover there. Came down I-190 and the main part of the Niagara was blue and beautiful and ice free. But the branch around Squaw Island that was once a ship channel was frozen solid with snow on it and in a couple places I saw human foot prints in the snow.
Going out again. Monroe shocks and struts and brake parts to the Advanced auto parts DC in Kuntztown, PA then pick up in Mechanicsburg, PA to come back. So in and then back out 16 hours later.
