1934 : When Scientists Were Still Honest

Scientists had no idea what caused the extreme weather of 1934, but at the time they were honest enough to admit it. Now they just make stuff up in order to keep funding coming in.

In 1934, 80% of the US was in drought.

At the end of 2015, almost none of the US was in drought.

Scientists who claim the weather is more extreme now, are are either idiots or criminals.

There are probably going to stop this graphing as it doesn’t suit the narrative… my guess

  2. Marsh says:

Yes, it is all about hidden Agendas today ( & not so hidden ), we can at least say, Scientists had some “honest intent” in the first half of the 20th Century. It would be interesting to know, just how damaging this “Climate Fraud” has been & adversely affected, the overall field of Science.?

  3. Andy DC says:

Every idiot knows that there was no drought in the 1930’s. The Dust Bowl was created not by weather, but by evil white males butchering the soil! (sarc)

  4. jafo says:

“either idiots or criminals”…you write this suggesting hey must be mutually exclusive…as bob dole said, “I have my doubts”…

  5. Gail Combs says:

    Marsh,
Government/Corporate money has completely trashed the field of science.

In Eisenhower’s Farewell Address to the Nation (January 17, 1961) Ike warned

…Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite…..

Not much earlier, Dr. Arthur Roberts, physics dept. of the University of Iowa, wrote the song Take Away Your Billion Dollars (published in Physics Today 1, (7) 1946)
…”Take away your billion dollars, take away your tainted gold,
You can keep your damn ten billion volts, my soul will not be sold.
Take away your army generals; their kiss is death, I’m sure…
Oh, beware this epidemic Berkelitis, I beseech.
Oh, dammit! Engineering isn’t physics, is that plain?
Take, oh take, your billion dollars, let’s be physicists again.”

(SEE: http://ww3.haverford.edu/physics-astro/songs/roberts/roberts1947.htm for other songs and recordings)

So what do we find today? Fraud or at least misrepresentation and bias.

As Brian Martin paper on Scientific fraud and the power structure of science says

“Some individuals have tried to raise concern about these practices [2], but for the most part they are tolerated or treated as standard practice…. Also tolerated are biased viewpoints, including those linked to powerful vested interests. Many scientists are employed by or receive research funds from companies or government bodies, and both expect and are expected to come up only with results useful to those bodies. “

Are there examples out side of Climastrology? Unfortunately yes, in Medicine, another big moneymaker.

US scientists significantly more likely to publish fake research, study finds

US scientists are significantly more likely to publish fake research than scientists from elsewhere, finds a trawl of officially withdrawn (retracted) studies, published online in the Journal of Medical Ethics.

Fraudsters are also more likely to be “repeat offenders,” the study shows….

Nice reputation American Scientist have and the FDA is as bad or worse.

The FDA Underreports Scientific Misconduct In Peer-Reviewed Articles

..Researchers reported in at least 57 clinical trials, the FDA found evidence of one or more of the following problems: falsification or submission of false information, problems with adverse events reporting, protocol violations, inadequate or inaccurate recordkeeping, failure to protect the safety of patients or issues with informed consent. Yet, only three of the 78 publications that resulted from these trials made note of this. There were largely no corrections, retractions, or listed concerns….

“The findings presented in this study should give us pause,” Seife said. “This investigation has found numerous studies for which the FDA determined there was significant evidence of fraudulent or otherwise problematic data. Such issues raise questions about the integrity of a clinical trial, and mention of these problems is missing from the relevant peer-reviewed literature.”

Actual paper Research Misconduct Identified by the US Food and Drug Administration: Out of Sight, Out of Mind, Out of the Peer-Reviewed Literature

    An actual case:
FDA says CRO Cetero faked trial data; pharmas may need to redo tests

In a July 26 letter to Cetero, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration describes the falsification as “extensive,” calling into question all bioanalytical data collected by Cetero’s Houston bioanalytical laboratory from April 1, 2005 to June 15, 2010. The FDA said Cetero manipulated test samples so the tests would yield desired results….

…a Cetero employee submitted to the company a letter bringing formal allegations of regulatory violations and misconduct. According to the FDA, the employee said “many of the chemists were manipulating and falsifying data associated with the samples being used within various projects.”….

….In at least 875 instances, lab chemists weren’t even at the facility when test samples were extracted. While Cetero attributed the false claims of weekend and holiday work to workers trying to claim overtime, the FDA noted that the reasoning doesn’t explain the falsification of weekday work records. In addition to the inconsistent time and date records, the FDA found that Cetero falsified data from multiple studies for multiple clinical trial sponsors…..

So the FDA found FIVE YEARS of FRAUD! So does the FDA recall the drugs in question??? Short answer NO!

The FDA did not identify any of the drugs or sponsoring drug companies whose data was affected.

Just how much data was falsified is still unknown. … The FDA said there is no evidence that already marketed drugs pose a safety risk. But the agency is asking drug companies to review work Cetero did for them to ensure that test results are reliable. That could get expensive. Companies whose drugs were approved with Cetero’s faked test results might have to pay for a whole new slate of clinical studies….

WTF! The FDA is going to continue to allow the sale of these drugs to the public even though the clinical trials were faked? They are RELYING on the corporations to vet the information and not doing the job themselves???

And the Alarmists wonder why we do not trust other government departments to protect the interests of Main Street instead of the interests of Wall Street?

    • Marsh says:

The British historian, Lord Acton once said: “All power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.” This goes somewhere to explain the endemic problem caused by very large Institutions & Agencies ; none larger, than those found in the United States.

  6. Gail Combs says:

So what do scientists have to say about Ike’s speech?

After 50 Years, Eisenhower’s Warnings Against a Scientific Elite Still Cause Consternation — American Association for the Advancement of Science (an international non-profit)

….Daniel S. Greenberg, a veteran journalist and author of several books on science policy, said the warning “was regarded as a kick in the teeth by the science establishment of the day.”

“The remarks were also seen as a threat to government support of academic research,” Greenberg continued, with the U.S. National Science Foundation in its infancy and other available government funding limited.

Greenberg said one reason scientists were surprised and bothered by the remarks is that Eisenhower had been very friendly with scientists (including Isidor Rabi, a Nobel laureate in physics), appeared to value their advice on many issues, and was the first president to appoint a full-time science adviser. The science adviser at the time, eminent chemist George Kistiakowsky, said in a later interview with Greenberg that when he questioned Eisenhower about the remarks, the president tried to distinguish between academic research, which he supported, and expanding research by industry and others with military implications that he felt was dangerous.

“I have no doubt that Eisenhower feared the ‘military-industrial complex,’” Greenberg said, “But I’m not sure that he intended a blanket indictment of science in his reference to the ‘scientific-technological elite’ or that he feared that federal research money would contaminate academic science.”….

And we spin spin spin the words away.

I can find ZERO on the funding of AAAS. The Rockefeller foundation/AAAS article showing on google has been scrubbed from the internet.

    Is this Greenpeace?

AAAS, founded in 1848, has evolved into the world’s largest multidisciplinary scientific society with nearly 130,000 members and subscribers. The mission, to “advance science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people,” has propelled the organization to the forefront of national and international initiatives. Global efforts include programs and partnerships worldwide, from Asia to Europe to Africa, and extensive work in human rights using geospatial technology to corroborate abuses. Science and policy programs include the major annual forum on Science & Technology policy, S&T policy fellowships within the US Congress and government agencies, and the tracking of US funding for R&D research. Science education initiatives have laid the groundwork for standards-based learning and provide web-based support tools for teachers. Public engagement activities are creating an open dialogue with scientists on societal issues such as global climate change. AAAS also acts as an umbrella organization for a federation of more than 270 affiliated scientific groups.…. https://www.jstor.org/publisher/aaas

So there is your international network on climate change and it looks like common core too. I would still like to know who the heck is funding them.

  7. Marsh says:

That is probably what resides under the umbrella ; but the overarching “who” may well include overseas money, involving a foreign Cartel,, and does Not put the USA first..!

    • Gail Combs says:

We know there was a Foreign Cartel intent on raping and subjugating the USA since the Revolution. They have finally succeeded in doing so via various treaties and the complete corruption of all branches of our government up to and including the Supreme Court who continually modifies the US Constitution.

Congressman McFadden among others pointed this out to Congress in 1934 but by that time the corruption was too deep so he was driven out of office and when he would not shut up he was assassinated. The same for the Lindberghs, father and son. In that case they first destroyed Lindbergh’s Sr.books and then when his son ran for President kidnapped and killed Congressman Lindbergh’s grandson.
      More on the Lindbergh’s

      • Marsh says:

Gail, in one sense we can see how “AGW” so easily took hold in the USA. The seeds for fraud were already sown across the USA ; similar corruption was already well practiced.
        …………………
Whilst Corruption exists within every form of Government, a Country can go from bad to worse as is the case today. I always look back to Ronald Reagan and believe that was a time of righteousness at home & abroad ; just try comparing Obama with Reagan..?
        ………………….
Lincoln, Lindbergh’s & there are other good people like King who were assassinated for
the good they stood for… it’s such a shame, the best in society are succeeded by the worst ; yet society allows this to happen,,, above all, this is what needs to be addressed.

        • Gail Combs says:

          Agreed Marsh,

That is why I try to get the truth out as much as I can to counter the bought and paid for media.

  8. Marsh says:

On Ike’s speech : Nuclear proliferation was core to his time in Office. A time of change, where the Military was driven by Science ( more than any other time in history ). The responsibility, also had a moral imperative not lost on the leader ; as was the Science that empowered everyone ; hence the concern & suspicion as to where Science was heading…
