NASA? What does El Nino have to do with Muslim Outreach?
Of course as we have seen, nothing can falsify their hypothesis. But they have continually put great stock in claiming that temperatures will rise and not go back down much after this El Nino ends. Starting years before the El Nino Modoki which preceded this El Nino Joe Bastardi was saying that this would be the test of the AGW hypothesis. If we have a significant La Nina and temperatures do not stay at a higher level then as far as he’s concerned the alarmists have no case.
It is typical, now that this El Nino has apparently peaked and the time begins to approach when their previous claims about what would happen comes closer,they start equivocating. Where before a lot of them were saying that temperatures would remain at a higher level after this El Nino and there would be, we are seeing them now say “anything could happen”.
When they say “anything can happen” it’s a win win for them. Anything that does happen can now be blamed on “climate change”.
Never mentioned is actual climate change: The incremental drop in insolation that is slowly returning earth’s climate back toward its more stable cold phase. Eventually (without a possible catastrophic acceleration) a mid millennial “little ice age” becomes a full glacial when the solar peak at the end of a millennium is insufficient to melt the ice.
And so we will have to wait and see what solar cycle 25 has in store for us. But if NASAs initial prediction is correct we’re more than likely in for some very cold times.

Cycle 24 should end around 2020 to 2021 (11 to 12 years from January 2009 start) However it is not exactly lively right now.

LOL! NASA says “global warming means ‘anything could happen'”. That is the first accurate thing I have heard NASA say about “global warming”. There is a reason why I almost always refer to it as CAGW, “catastrophic anthropogenic global warming”. Why because none of the alarmist can agree on what global warming is; it might make us cold, it might make us hot, it might make us dry, it might make us wet, it might make it stormy or on the other hand the annual monsoons might stop… The ONLY things they agree on is that we humans have caused it and it is going to be CATASTROPHIC!
It is embarrassing to see grown ups embrace such nebulous quackery as CAGW.

Many of the same people who think that carbon offsets are a good idea will tell you that the Catholic Church was a chump scam during the Middle Ages because they sold absolution from sins.
I see a similarity in what you MEANT to say but just for the record may I clear up one thing? Whatever simony took place at any time in the past regarding the SELLING OF INDULGENCES had NOTHING to do with absolution from sins. NEVER has there been a charge for abolution. ABSOLUTELY. What went on, and it was deplorable, was the SELLING OF INDULGENCES, an indulgence being the TEMPORAL REMISSION OF PUNISHMENT DUE TO SINS. When we sin we have hurt ourselves and/or others as well as offended the infinite goodness of God. Pretend for a moment that you committed a sin: you deliberately lied about global warming and collected carbon offset fees. You realized it was a scam, confessed the sin, were forgiven, but there is still harm done that has to be dealt with. (Agreed?) An indulgence helps with that. Prayers, penance, pilgrimages, almsgiving, etc. are sources for indulgences. No money changes hands, except for the alms, at least shouldn’t have. The penitent just did the good deeds. Some corrupt clerics (and probably politicians) decided to get in on this gravy train and charged money for these indulgences. This came to an end some time ago. Indulgences are still possible to attain, such as during this Year of Mercy, but only by doing specified actions. No charge.
Please note this and do not intentionally mistake the words “indulgence” and “absolution” again. If you need a lesson on the difference between the Immaculate Conception and the Virgin Birth give me a ring. 😉
