    I found some PDFs online, a few years ago, scans of the actual handwritten temperature records for US weather stations. I should have downloaded them that instant, have searched for them but never found them since. Do people have them somewhere? More to the point, do we have the canonical unaltered numbers? Also do you know if the written records still exist?

    It’s been 10-12 degrees Fahrenheit in southwest Texas the last 2 mornings. Much worse in the Texas panhandle. Wind chills below zero. Bitter cold in the desert.

    In other words: it’s winter.
