Arctic Fake News Update

All year long, the criminals and useful idiots in the press have been telling us how hot the Arctic is, and ice extent is at a record low.

The actual North Pole was below normal temperature every single day during the melt season, and appears headed for the highest summer minimum extent in years.

The press will of course be silent about this information, because they are Orwellian fake news. 97% of all climate stories are 100% fake, and the other 3% are 97% fake.

  1. Griff says:

Your quoted comments are all showing November dates, reflecting that, yes, last year the arctic was hotter -and all through the winter.

and this summer its dropped back to the ‘mean’ – so colder than last year.

and yet the ice extent has retreated just as much, while there is les volume and less thickness.

    • AndyG55 says:

It has RECOVERED greatly from last year’s El Nino

Why are you so darn IGNORANT about .. EVERYTHING !!!

The ONLY problem with Arctic sea ice is that the RECOVERY downwards from the extremes of the late 1970’s and LIA has STOPPED.

Its still WAY above 90-95% of the last 10,000 years.

ADMIT THE FACTS, so that you can GET OVER IT, griff.

There are not enough bedsheets in the world to keep up with your child-minded, chicken-little, manic bed-wetting.

    • AndyG55 says:

And why are you LYING yet again??

Volume is clearly ABOVE that of both 2016 and 2015.

    • David A says:

Volume is a political wag. Yes, even in the winter heat wave it was plus 20 below 0. No the summers have run consistently cool. Yes the AMO is turning, and the ice will increase. SL rise is not accelerating.

    • AndyG55 says:

And anyone confirm that you are LYING about thickness as well

You truly do just MAKE CRAP UP, don’t you griff.

      A perennial COMPULSIVE LIAR !!!

    • tonyheller says:

-25C is hot? So many people vacationing in the Arctic winter.

      • gator69 says:

Ms Griff burnishing her geography credentials once again.

        • arn says:

Waiting for the day when Griff realises that by arctic Tony does not mean her refrigerator brand
but this thing at the north pole.
(and when she realises that her fridge is not plugged in she’ll know while temperatures there are so much above normal)

      • Steve Case says:

        Washington Post “Super Hot”
        Guardian “Extraordinarily hot”
        Press Reader “super-hot”
        Weather Network “record hot”

Only a newspaper with an ax to grind would refer to sub zero (-15 to -30°C) as hot.

      • Andy DC says:

Yes, I hear Point Barrow beachfront property is selling like hotcakes.

    • Mr GrimNasty says:

Griff, you keep trying to make out that this summer was abnormally cold – to explain/hide your disappointment at the lack of record setting melt – but that does not make it a fact. This summer’s surface temperatures, according to DMI, are practically indistinguishable from any year this century, in fact lots of recent summers, were if anything, slightly colder.

  2. AndyG55 says:

Still NO WAY through the Larsen (1944), SS Manhattan(1969) route.

With a good ice breaker, might sneak through Cambridge Bay

  3. AndyG55 says:

Griff has his/her fossil fuelled heating turned up. !

Even the inner city UHI effect isn’t enough to escape the cold.

Yet he/she wants everyone living up in the Arctic to be frozen in every year, instead of getting a break from the current high sea ice levels.

What a miserable, anti-human CRETIN he/she really is.

  4. AndyG55 says:

Wow , Vilkitsky Strait is still closed without an ice breaker.

    Larsen’s 1944 route, impassable.

Darn there is one HECK OF A LOT of sea ice up there !!!

Just think, in the MWP they used to sail wooden whalers and wooden commercial sailing ship all over the place up there. !

  5. Frank K. says:

The NANSEN sea ice data set basically has the arctic ice extent unchanged over the past week or two (15% or greater).

    • Stewart Pid says:

Griff will be very surprised to see the above graph and won’t be able to comprehend why ice doesn’t melt at temps below freezing …. especially with all the alarmist rags screaming about the HOT HOT HOT -25C temps of last winter. Grifftard = temperature challenged!

  6. Brad says:

Doing yeoman’s work Tony, keep it up.

  7. Gerald Machnee says:

I am having a problem logging in to the “arctic mission” site. Is anyone else having a problem??

    • Steven Fraser says:

There is a blank picture in the forground.

    • Steven Fraser says:

Hmm. The blog section seems to have new sponsorship.

The main url is fine. They are currently at 076° 07.275N, 162° 59.077W

And speed of .6 knots. They are in the ice.

Here,is the main url with the location

      http://www.arcticmission.com/follow-arctic-mission/

      • Stewart Pid says:

Showing 3 knots when I looked … hopefully they are caught in thick pack ice that grinds their boat to pieces and leaves them wandering on the ice dodging hunting polar bears. A week of that and then they could be rescued and all would be in possession of a new respect for the arctic.

        • Steven Fraser says:

They appear to be moving more now, and their course has changed.

By my reckoning, they are rigtmat the border of the ice area that you can see on DMI.

          • AndyG55 says:

Bit hard to tell because of the different projections used,

But I’d say they have just about finished their journey towards the pole.

            Somewhere inside the red circle

          • AndyG55 says:

Found the lat/long so a bit more precise

Little boat isn’t going to get far in the orange shaded region

          • AndyG55 says:

And if it the green section starts to re-freeze behind them :-)

That will be funny , and KARMA.. !!

          • Rah says:

I think for most of us that believe God effects the affairs of man and is not just the creator; experiences that indicate Karma exists is powerful evidence.

          • Colorado Wellington says:

The Grauniad will report that the Arctic Mission boats sailed freely within the red Arctic circle.

      • Garyh845 says:

Today’s blog post at the arcticmission.com site.

First sighting of polar bears (pics and video are posted):

“Of the sighting, expedition leader Pen Hadow said ‘This is another bittersweet moment during our voyage. The mother and cubs looked in good condition from afar, but the juvenile appeared to be in a challenging phase of its life. The good news is the essential food chain is currently supporting these bears. The cautionary twist is that survival may be marginal, and any new and avoidable risks to the food chain should be controlled by international policymakers before it is too late.’ ”

        Say what?

  8. Gerald Machnee says:

    Thanks.
I was at a hotel and it seems their wifi was programmed for some security so I was not able to get some e-mail as well. Home now and picked it up.

  9. Steve Parker says:

Slightly off-topic, but the Great Lakes surface temps are WAY below normal this year. Huron is more than SIX degrees below normal. And this after a relatively warm Winter. Could be nasty in the midwest this Winter.

    http://www.mlive.com/weather/index.ssf/2017/08/great_lakes_water_temperatures_8.html

    • Rah says:

Contrast between warm lake water and cold moist air is part of what’s needed for serious lake effect. This truck driver will take the cold water. It’ll freeze earlier and once frozen lake effect is not a factor.
