The east coast was very cold during the winter of 1976-1977, while Colorado had its driest winter on record. Snow in Miami, none in Colorado.

    1977 was the driest year in the high desert since white people started keeping records. We were all on water rationing.

    there were -20 F below normal temperatures for the entire month of January 1977 near the Ohio River Valley. A 20 degree departure from normal for an entire month is a very rare event.
