Seven Years Since The Demise Of The North Pole

It appears in 1967, National Geographic was alive…

Are they zombies now? 😉
Yes, you can tell because it is the brain dead writing for them.
The North Pole has always suffered from ice-free days. What is the panic all about??? Some Warmists have been spreading lies just to worry people. Shame!
Firstly, biomarkers indicate that the Arctic was free of sea ice in summer for most of the first 3/4 of the Holocene.
Maybe he means , the first time since the Little Ice Age ?
Really? Never heard. That’s very interesting and is probably very good information to spread… Have any links?
Ice free Arctic Ocean, an Early Holocene analogue
The third from the last sentence is:
“A large set of samples of molluscs from beach ridges and marine sediments were collected in the summer of 2007, and are presently being dated to give a precise dating of the ice free interval.”
“A large set of samples of molluscs from beach ridges and marine sediments were collected in the summer of 2007, and are presently being dated to give a precise dating of the ice free interval.”
A friend of mine was actually in that expedition. Oddly, she didn’t come back with a great tan, and stories of tropical beaches. All she talked about was the endless, unbroken ice. I guess the north pole melting hadn’t made it that far south yet.
She didn’t come back with a great tan, and stories of tropical beaches? What a shame.
This is a good place to start. Chapter 6 discusses.

Then of course you can just look at Greenland ice core temperatures to realise that it was warmer through most of the first 3/4 of the Holocene.
All the different strands of data say about the same thing.
Here. strait from the ice face

ps.. any search for “Fram Strait biomarkers” will lead to a time-consuming read of many papers. (been there done that)
And its amazing how well the analysis links in with the Gisp/Grip Greenland ice data.
Thank God, the North Pole cannot read.
And then they make fun of those guys who told us that 2012 would be the end of the world …
I’m always blown away by the “Arctic Albedo Feedback” crowd that thinks a couple of W/m^2 either way is going to make a huge difference one way or the other. But the effect of having open water vs even very thin ice will emit energy to space at over 160W/m^2 more than ice, even using a very generous downwelling IR, which would depend on cloud cover and humidity. Open water begets ICE when you have cold air above it, there is no way around it.
Open water at the Arctic is an incredibly massive heat gate, it simply could not sustain itself that way for long unless tropical water was finding its way north at a huge rate. Even the reduced ice we’ve seen in the last couple of decades is going the other way, it’s going to cycle back to thick ice, which will reduce heat escape, allow heat to build up in the water as it cycles in from lower latitudes, which will melt the ice, open the floodgate again, and it will release the heat and close again. 160W/m^2 >> 2W/m^2
The Alarmists also ignore the fact Antarctic sea ice has been at record highs the last few years and that ice is much closer to the equatior and therefore reflects more solar energy.
So now we have sea ice growing in the SH and in the NH and the AMO peaking and heading down as the sun goes sleepy. The Con-Artists must be in a real panic to get their carbon trading/tax through before the sheeple wake up half froze to death.

Thanks, BOOKMARKED!
Tony-
You’ve become blinded by your ideology. I can tell you from personal experience that Santa hasn’t brought me anything in the last 7 years. He hasn’t even eaten the cookies I left out for him. Obviously there’s something wrong at the north pole.
THINK OF THE CHILDREN.
I saw Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer just recently. Some one stuck him on a road sign. At night his red reflector nose really lights up! (I did a double take when I saw the sign)
Someone needs to call PETA. They would stop Rudolph’s abuse by euthanizing him.
Rudolph can join the 88.3 percent–that PETA took into custody and killed within 24 hours in Virgina last year.

PETA KILLS ANIMALS
PETA’s actual goal is to remove property rights and to reduce humans to the same status as animals so people will have no problem with the Fabian Socialist goals.
Straight from Fabian co-founder George Bernard Shaw
Sure sounds like the way a farmer treats his livestock.
And it is working:
Peter Singer’s Bold Defense of Infanticide: Singer is the Decamp Professor of Bio-Ethics at Princeton University. ” In 1979 he wrote,“Human babies are not born self-aware, or capable of grasping that they exist over time. They are not persons”; therefore, “the life of a newborn is of less value than the life of a pig, a dog, or a chimpanzee.””
After-Birth Abortions: College Students Increasingly Support Infanticide “… in interviews that not only do they see more college students willing to say they support post-birth abortion, but some students even suggest children up to 4 or 5-years-old can also be killed, because they are not yet “self aware.”’
Hospitals ‘paid millions to put patients on [Liverpool] death pathway’ “Hospitals are being paid millions of pounds to reach targets for the number of patients put on a controversial pathway for the withdrawal of life-saving treatment, according to data based on Freedom of Information requests.”
This is the type of National ‘Health Care’ the Progressives want to gradually introduce in the USA via Obummercare.
UK Doctor Admits To Starving Babies To Death, Using ‘End-Of-Life’ Care
Bernadette Lloyd, a hospice pediatric nurse, … wrote: “The parents feel coerced, at a very traumatic time, into agreeing that this is correct for their child whom they are told by doctors has only has a few days to live. It is very difficult to predict death. I have seen a ‘reasonable’ number of children recover after being taken off the pathway.”
“I have also seen children die in terrible thirst because fluids are withdrawn from them until they die.”
Lloyd goes on to describe the death of a young cancer patient on a death pathway plan: “I witnessed a 14 year-old boy with cancer die with his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth when doctors refused to give him liquids by tube. His death was agonist for him, and for us nurses to watch. This is euthanasia by the backdoor.”
One doctor admitted to participating in the starvation death of ten newborns. Death pathway “care” involves withdrawing food and fluid by tube is being used on young patients as well as severely disabled newborn babies. The doctor, who remained anonymous, reports that the parent-approved death pathways often take much longer than parents realize.
It can take ten days for a baby to die of starvation and dehydration. The doctor who wrote about his experiences admits to starving and dehydrating ten babies to death in the neonatal unit of one hospital alone. He describes the babies becoming “smaller and shrunken” as they waste away….
The Progressive slogan should be,
Kittens. Puppies, Babies? Whats the difference, we Kill them all!
it must have been a really, really frigid winter in 2008-2009 because I remember taking an Alaska cruise vacation in late summer 2009 and took pics of a lot of ice as far south as Juneau… or maybe the prediction was off by a little bit. Perhaps on my future vacation I’ll be able to see the 49th state free of ice and snow…
