Gail, a bit unfair. IIRC, John Cleese actually had a solid old-style British education with very good grades in the maths, physics and science., and actually taught science in prep school at one stage. He was no dunce in the science areas and science back then was taught “properly”

Today the temperature in Naimakka in the very North of Sweden was -42,8 degree C. Lowest temperatur recorded in Sweden since 1999.
Weather and anecdotal. If it was the highest temperature recorded it would be climate….and science.

Those south of the Baltic in Europe are getting some colder weather also and there is even more to come if the models are correct. Time for global warming to move elsewhere, because I don’t think it’ll be showing up in the US or Europe for the next couple months. Guess they’ll have to talk about the Arctic some more.
It would appear based on the weather models that there is going to be widespread snow down to sea level over most of Europe during the next couple of weeks. Even much of the UK should experience significant snowfall.

“The end of science” – you are probably far far too close for comfort. The global warming scam – was a scam. “Science” as in a bunch of numpties in academia pontificating about the world – could have got away with backing that scam 100 years ago, when they would just have rewritten the history books and push fed the gullible journalists with story after story blaming someone else for the scam (most likely the equivalent of us sceptics). But that just is not possible today.
And far from having the sense to realise that the internet exposed them to the massive risk of bringing the whole of “science” into disrepute, academic after academic jumped on the global warming bandwagon and claimed that “science says … global warming”.
Well, we’ve never been in this position before where almost the whole of the scientific hierarchy is about to be made a laughing stock (if as I predict 2016 see global cooling as the El Nino finishes). So this year we could well be entering totally uncharted territory and we might expect anything from the total humiliating collapse of “science” as a subject even with its “leaders” being taken away to “the penn” to total indifference as if nothing at all unusual were happening as global temperatures drop.
I don’t know if the end of global warming madness will be a significant event for “science”. I’m absolutely sure the “scientists” don’t know (they don’t know much do they) – so this could be one of the most interesting years – or it might be one of the most boring/frustrating years with nothing at all changing.
I for one am throughly disgusted with academic science. I am further disgusted to see my university is turning out several of these scammers who go from bad to down right dangerous.
I am absolutely LIVID — Unspeakably angry — to see American universities using uninformed people as guinea pigs including children, some of whom they have killed (including my mother)
As far as I am concern I would like to see every single ‘institute of higher learning’ vetted with a microscope and the ones guilty of turning out scammers burned to the ground!

Unfortunately Scottish Sceptic, as you are well aware, those same ‘scientists’ that are now peddling the AGW scam will only turn it around to AGC due to aerosols or some other ‘pollutant’ they can come up with. Who knows, it could still be CO2 ‘what done it’.
They’re already doing it now by saying that the cooling from the ’40’s to the ’70’s was due to mans aerosol input …… instead of looking at the real, ‘natural’ causes.
