As the Antarctic ice begins to disappear, penguins are at risk: in some areas one species has declined by a stunning 90 percent. NBC’s Kerry Sanders reports from Antarctica.
There has been no warming, and the ice has continuously increased to record levels.

In April of last year, it was reported that Emperor Penguin populations were double what they had previously believed.
Satellite view helps double Emperor penguin population
Emperor penguins in Antarctica are far more plentiful than previously thought, a study that used extremely high-resolution imagery snapped by satellites has revealed.
“It surprised us that we approximately doubled the population estimate,” said Peter Fretwell, a scientist with the British Antarctic Survey and lead author of a paper published Friday in the journal PLoS One.
The truth shouldn’ t be allowed to get in the way of a good mass media pack of lies. After all, the science is settled, even if the penguins are thriving.

I was amazed at how extreme their exaggerations were when I heard this on TV last night. The statement that temperatures have increased 10.7 degrees (at 1:06 in video) and that the NSIDC shows that 6 months ago sea ice was at record low levels (1:10). I went to the NBC news website and tried to leave a comment to dispute their claims by providing links to the NSIDC graphs that show record ice. Every attempt to provide real data had the web address SNIPPED out. I finally had to imbed mouse clicking instructions to allow people to get to the real NSIDC data.
Overfishing is the biggest threat to Penguins. Study after study has confirmed this.
I like how they say that it has warmed an unprecedented 12 degrees but fail to tell you what the average temperature is still below 32 degrees.
About 100 degrees below 32 degrees.
And they quote a 50 year study period, because the satellite era does not conform…
Like the polar bears, the penguins number are rising to a peak of what their natural environment can tolerate, after that there will be decline. Just a normal natural cycle. But wait! The AGW scammers know this and are greedily awaiting the day they can go fully hysterical as nature take its toll on these animals.
The corporate-controlled mainstream media have become a joke. They are no longer in the business of reporting the news. Instead they have become paid propagandists for the government. Is it any wonder their opinion poll ratings are at an all-time low (just above that of politicians). Anyone who wants real news needs to go to the Internet and the blogosphere. There, they will find an abundance of uncensored investigative reporting. The bought-and-paid-for presstitutes taking up space in today’s newsrooms can’t be trusted.

NBC (National Booster of Climate-hysteria) rely on most people having the same memory as a goldfish, i.e. none.
They used cameras to determine population count. Because the cameras aren’t everywhere, they can’t tell if populations declined or simply moved. Satellite views are more accurate, and have shown these goons to be wrong.
It looked to me like the NBC piece was a thinly veiled ad for Quark Expeditions. The penguin thing and the fake temperatures are just to get people to visit ‘before it all melts’.
