How did Katherine determine that the small warm area east of New Jersey was caused by “climate change?” Did climate change miss the unusually cold water around Alaska, New Zealand and South America?
Sandy only spent a few hours in that warm water patch, which was barely above 60F and was not warm enough to produce hurricane activity. Sandy was called a superstorm, because she mixed with very cold air from the west and produced record snow. Hayhoe’s second comment also shows that she is either incompetent or dishonest.

She’s funny. If we look at the sea rise over the last 7K years, once the massive rise from the end of the glacial period stabilized, she’s right. The average is 6-8 inches per century. Which includes all the cool periods over the last 7K years, when sea rise was very low or reversed. So, if we were really in dire straights, we should see about 12-15 inches of sea rise during a warm period. But, all these climate terrorists, er, Warmists, are factually and reality challenged.
