Texas Hurricanes Becoming Much Less Common

During the 19th century, Texas got hit by hurricanes an average of every two years. Now it is about once every three years. It has been seven years since Texas got hit by a major hurricane.

In 1886, Texas got hit by four hurricanes including two major hurricanes – one of which wiped Indianola off the map with 150+ MPH winds.
