I don’t have any .308 sitting around. Too expensive for my tastes. I get 7.62×54 for 25 cents a pop, and it is very accurate out the barrel of my $90 Mosin.Nagant.

Excellent. You have previously mentioned that you shoot at distance. What range do you consider the maximum effective for that light round and a 10 inch target? The scope mount for my 5.56 with 20″ barrel is in the mail and I haven’t had it out yet.
.545 range is about the same as .556 (800+ yards) but this rifle has a short barrel so I don’t expect it to be very accurate beyond 400 yards.
