Those who originally named the peak spoke as they probably found it, calling it “Snow Dun”, from the Saxon for “snow hill”. But Snowdon may lose its snow cover within 13 years as a result of climate change, Welsh scientists say.

The UK Guardian editorial staff is totally schizophrenic. One day they say ignore top NASA engineers and astronauts if they say the world is not getting hotter, and the next the Guardian have a story of excess snow and ice in the UK in spring. If the Guardian don’t see the irony, then it proves they are a few sandwiches short of a cut lunch.
