On January 22, 1906 everywhere east of the Mississippi was very warm. while much of the west froze. It was 78 degrees at Uniontown, Pennsylvania and 96 degrees at Franklin, Louisiana that day.
Today will be a little bit different.

…irritable climate syndrome
1906? Get real! Everybody knows that ancient history has nothing to with today because that was before we more modern humans gained the ability to change the climate! Thus all that warming was just natural. Now today we know that if the same thing happened it would have to be because of humans causing it.
“History? Why should anyone have to learn history? We need to learn about the future!”
Believe it or not, that is only a very slight paraphrase of something once said to me by a public school teacher.
I am beginning to suspect that the souls of most Americans have been exchanged for souls from bodies that reside in the Tropics. Every winter there is at least one snow storm that seems to terrify the nation or at least the news commentators. These sorts of storms do not seem to have existed in the past, or they are being greatly exaggerated now. Just consider if someone on the East Coast was without bread for four days and milk for five! Given the high rate of obesity in this nation even a week without food would hardly lead to starvation. Americans are desperate for adventure. Walking a few blocks in a snow storm might be just the thing. They would need to find a YouTube video on how to dress though. I recommend this for city dwellers only as they can always knock on a door if they get lost or enter a store.
All you have to do is ask RAH how to dress for cold weather. He would be very glad to tell you.
It’s not hard to learn. Experience is the best teacher though. The lessons learned from that aren’t forgotten.
When ANYTHING having to do with inclement weather happens along the I-95 corridor from Boston to DC, it’s worse that if it happens anywhere else as far as the MSM is concerned. 30″ of snow in DC is a disaster and “Snowageddon” that everyone has to know about and which generates endless hype and follow up stories. 30″ of Snow in Holland, MI or Bangor, ME, etc is generally not worthy of National media attention. Now the occasional winter weather event in places like Atlanta will get their attention just because of the novelty. But let a flood hit Nashville and inundate the homes of 1,000s and kill a couple of people, flood the Grand Ole Opry and the stadium where the Titans play so that the field is under 4′ of water and there is 2 story house floating down the middle of I-40 and it hardly gets noticed by the national media. There is not other way to put it. Those people and their priorities are Fucked Up!
