“The lies simply can’t go on forever.”

Al Gore sure got away with a bevy of them this morning on Fox News (hint: Chris Wallace is no friend of common sense):

GORE: ” . . a lot of serious damage has been done.

Greenland, for example, has been losing one cubic kilometer of ice every single day.

I went down to Miami and saw fish from the ocean swimming in the streets on a sunny day.

The same thing was true in Honolulu just two days ago, just from high tides because of the sea level rise now.

A nature hike through the book of Revelations:

These downpours and historic floods. We’ve had 11 once in a 1000 year downpours in the US just in the last 10 years.

We’ve got these wildfires that become mega-fires now.

70% of Florida is in drought today.

Missouri declared an emergency just a couple of days ago because of another one of these [droughts?].

There is absolutely no truth in anything that he spewed that has anything to do with some little bit of potential AGW.

I simply don’t watch any of them anymore and haven’t for some time.
I get my news from the internet and that’s where I learn of the most outrageous lies the TV talking heads are promoting also.
And BTW it’s looking like a system coming out of the Gulf is going to help Florida quite a bit. Not expected to be a drought buster but certainly going to be a drought blunter. Not going to be much “extreme drought” on the Palmer drought index map after that.

At least one of ManBearPig’s utterances is a benign truth but it makes the fact sound scary to folks who can’t do basic unit analysis.

      1 cubic kilometer per day
      divided by
1,710,000 square kilometer area of Greenland ice sheet (source:Google)
      equals
.585 millimeters / day ice thickness loss. ( 23 thousandths of an inch per day)

If constant for six months adds up to a total loss for 183 day of just 4.2 inches of thickness

Which isn’t scary at all given Greenlands typical annual precipitation bringing in more than enough new water to replace that.

Oh, they keep lying. If we actually had a general press that did their jobs there NASA wouldn’t get away with this kind of crap:
“Antarctica Lost 125 Gigatons of Ice Per Year From 2002 to 2016, NASA Says”
    https://weather.com/news/climate/news/antarctica-ice-loss-125-gigatons-nasa-study

But in Oct. 2015, less than two years ago NASA said:
“Mass Gains of Antarctic Ice Sheet Greater than Losses”
    https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/nasa-study-mass-gains-of-antarctic-ice-sheet-greater-than-losses

Anyone else think this latest paper was released just in time to be a foil for fighting Climexit?

    Way to bury the headline.
