2013 and 2012 had the fewest US tornadoes on record, and 2014 has had less than one-third the normal amount for the date.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Doomsday headline: Tornadoes locked in a carbon Death Spiral!!
If you add up all the things that should be happening as a result of global warming that are not happening, sooner or later you’ll have to conclude that the predictions were wrong or there is no global warming. I suppose both could be true, too. What is inescapable is that the predictions are very much unfilled meaning those who made them are idiots or just MSU. I suppose both could be true.
It is dammed near prophetic to be so consistently wrong. Truly not an easy thing t do.
Yes,
They should hit 50% correct if they were guessing at random. Those computer models are worse than tossing dice.
They are loaded dice, and incapable of giving even odds.
Yet many warmist’s are so convinced in their belief’s that they conclude that something is wrong with the data. I have see analysis on this tornado trend and the warmist’s reply, well, the number is down but the intensity is greater. When this is shown to be incorect, then their response is that there must be something wrong with how we measure it. Theya re the true denialists!
Gaia hates Alarmists.
The Weather god, anyhow.
I’m curious as to how far back the data goes for calculating the average. There is no doubt in my mind that we are now tracking tornadoes that not that long ago would not have been tracked so by itself, the trend should be up.
As it says on the figure, the data for the average are from 2005-2013. It’s based on preliminary reports of tornadoes, not on final verified tornadoes.
There aren’t any measures that would put them as the two years with the fewest US tornadoes on record, unless you’re only using 11 years for the record. If we take the most reliably reported tornadoes [(E)F1 and stronger], which are pretty good starting in 1954, 2012 was the 6th lowest year on record and 2013 was tied for 13th lowest.
It’s also important to note that, at this point in 2012 (15 April), 2012 had the 6th most (E)F1+ tornadoes on record. If this article would have been written on 15 April 2012, no one would have called that a slow season.
The correlation between tornado numbers in the early part of the year (any date will do) and tornadoes later in the year is almost zero. As an extreme example, through 23 February, 2011 was tied for the fewest (E)F1+ tornadoes with 2, 2013 was in 6th place with 57 and 2012 was in 10th place with 44.
