The World’s Top Climate Scientist Is A Complete Moron

Three years ago, NASA’s #1 moron said that Canada was going to destroy the planet

ScreenHunter_3231 Sep. 26 09.42

GLOBAL warming isn’t a prediction. It is happening. That is why I was so troubled to read a recent interview with President Obama in Rolling Stone in which he said that Canada would exploit the oil in its vast tar sands reserves “regardless of what we do.”

If Canada proceeds, and we do nothing, it will be game over for the climate.

That is the long-term outlook. But near-term, things will be bad enough. Over the next several decades, the Western United States and the semi-arid region from North Dakota to Texas will develop semi-permanent drought

Extremely hot summers have increased noticeably. We can say with high confidence that the recent heat waves in Texas and Russia, and the one in Europe in 2003, which killed tens of thousands, were not natural events — they were caused by human-induced climate change.

Game Over for the Climate – The New York Times

Let’s examine his claims. The region from Texas to North Dakota is much wetter than normal.

The wheat and corn belts are getting wetter over time, and droughts are becoming less common and less severe.

The 2011 heatwave in Texas was a one shot anomaly. Heatwaves have been on the decline in Texas since the 1920s.

There has been no change in the frequency of heatwaves in Europe

    permanent [pur-muh-nuh nt] adjective
    1. existing perpetually; everlasting, especially without significant change.

There are no degrees of permanency, either something is permanent, or it is not. So yes, Homer is a moron.

These Merchants of Doom are worse than morons.

If they were actually morons–that is intellectually disabled, stupid, unable of rational thought–they would be harmless.

But they are not stupid. They are quite intelligent.

What’s worse than having morons in charge of national policy? Much worse is committed Politically Correct Progressives–who are, by definition, dedicated to destruction of American exceptionalism and capitalism–running national policies.

PC-Progs’ strategy and tactics are built on a foundation of fundamental dishonesty. They lie early, lie often, lie always. Mixing truth with lies, appealing to emotional triggers, making their Chicken Little followers believe they are better than us mouth-breathing Normals, is their approach.

Don’t misunderestimate the “morons.” They are not stupid. They are slavishly following a tremendously successful playbook.

Liars? Cheats? Thieves? Con-men? Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

    Morons? No.

A least they took a peak under the rug. But as the commenter Libertadius said ” the authors ignored the largest and most insidious government propaganda arm, “Public” education, delivering pro-socialist, pro-government propaganda for over a century.”

Gail: “A least they took a peak under the rug. But as the commenter Libertadius said ” the authors ignored the largest and most insidious government propaganda arm, “Public” education, delivering pro-socialist, pro-government propaganda for over a century.”

Well, he’s on the right track, timing-wise and in the domain of influence–education.

He just misses the terminology, and payload.

The technique used to place the anti-Normal-America payload in the education/academia system was NOT propaganda–it was covert influence.

And the payload they inserted was NOT “pro-socialist, pro-government” propaganda.

It was ANTI. Anti-Normal-America. The message, while faintly pro-collectivist, is purely anti-Normal. This is it, in two sentences:

‘America is a racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophiobic, imperialist, capitalist hell-hole. And it must be changed.’

Study that payload. It is the core of the PC-Prog belief system, including the Catastrophic Global Warmers. Their entire scam is based on the “…capitalist hell-hole…” piece of the payload.

That payload is what the PC-Progs inserted into our education/academia. Not “propaganda.” Subtle, but important difference.

          History

The flood of misinformation, misrepresentation, distortion, and outright falsehood about capitalism is such that the young people of today have no idea (and virtually no way of discovering any idea) of its actual nature. While archeologists are rummaging through the ruins of millennia for scraps of pottery and bits of bones, from which to reconstruct some information about prehistorical existence—the events of less than a century ago are hidden under a mound more impenetrable than the geological debris of winds, floods, and earthquakes: a mound of silence.
          http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/capitalism/11.html

A classic example, appropriate for this time of year:

          The Great Thanksgiving Hoax
Each year at this time, schoolchildren all over America are taught the official Thanksgiving story…. It is all very colorful and fascinating.

It is also very deceiving. This official story is nothing like what really happened…

The official story has the Pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America, and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620–21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them….

In his History of Plymouth Plantation, the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years because they refused to work in the field. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with “corruption,” and with “confusion and discontent.” The crops were small because “much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable.”

In the harvest feasts of 1621 and 1622, “all had their hungry bellies filled,” but only briefly. The prevailing condition during those years was not the abundance the official story claims, it was famine and death….

But in subsequent years something changes. The harvest of 1623 was different. Suddenly, “instead of famine now God gave them plenty,” Bradford wrote, “and the face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many, for which they blessed God.” Thereafter, he wrote, “any general want or famine hath not been amongst them since to this day.” In fact, in 1624, so much food was produced that the colonists were able to begin exporting corn.

What happened? After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, “they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop.” They began to question their form of economic organization.

This had required that “all profits & benefits that are got by trade, traffic, trucking, working, fishing, or any other means” were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, “all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock.” A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take only what he needed.

This “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that “young men that were most able and fit for labor and service” complained about being forced to “spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children.” Also, “the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak.” So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate.

To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of the famines….

So we tried socialism in the 1800s and it failed miserably.

          Did we learn? NO!

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.” — William Casey, CIA Director, (first Reagan staff meeting 1981)
Barbara Honegger is the source of that quote.
          http://www.quora.com/Did-William-Casey-CIA-Director-really-say-Well-know-our-disinformation-program-is-complete-when-everything-the-American-public-believes-is-false

I am the source for this quote, which was indeed said by CIA Director William Casey at an early February 1981 meeting of the newly elected President Reagan with his new cabinet secretaries to report to him on what they had learned about their agencies in the first couple of weeks of the administration.

The meeting was in the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House, not far from the Cabinet Room. I was present at the meeting as Assistant to the chief domestic policy adviser to the President. Casey first told Reagan that he had been astonished to discover that over 80 percent of the ‘intelligence’ that the analysis side of the CIA produced was based on open public sources like newspapers and magazines.
As he did to all the other secretaries of their departments and agencies, Reagan asked what he saw as his goal as director for the CIA, to which he replied with this quote, which I recorded in my notes of the meeting as he said it. Shortly thereafter I told Senior White House correspondent Sarah McClendon, who was a close friend and colleague, who in turn made it public. Barbara Honegger

Any comments on that info from ‘Barbara Honegger, Kent? Or is it just more Disinfo.

        • kentclizbe says:

          Gail,

“Any comments on that info from ‘Barbara Honegger, Kent? Or is it just more Disinfo.”

I’m sure the lady who sat in the meeting thought she heard that, and thought she was faithfully recording what was said. But I’m not too sure. I’ve never heard of her. Vetting her background, here’s the first info I found: “Perhaps the oddest case in the small but fertile world of government functionary-9/11 Truth crossover is that of Barbara Honegger, a dedicated but elusive and little seen 9/11 warrior with murky roots (apparently military and intelligence). She was allegedly into weird parapsychic stuff, channeling voices of supercomputers from the future and whatnot,”

So, let’s give her the benefit of the doubt, and assume she really thought she heard what she reported Casey to say–to summarize, that his job was to misinform the American people. Best case scenario is that she was a newbie to both intel and the policy world, and was likely confused and overwhelmed, and totally lacked context for what she was hearing.

I spent years in the belly of the beast, and worked on all the types of relevant programs. One of the most stringently enforced, inspected, and obsessed over issues is covered in this section of the relevant law:
“(f) Prohibition on covert actions intended to influence United States political processes, etc.
No covert action may be conducted which is intended to influence United States political processes, public opinion, policies, or media.”
          https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/50/3093

American covert action, by law, CANNOT spill over to American audiences. This applies to ops run by the intel community, under Presidential findings.

This prohibition was zealously followed and enforced, since WW2, up to Obama’s handlers’ administration. So, the lady’s quote is ridiculous on its face. IF Casey planned to use intel assets against the US public, he WOULD NOT have announced it in a semi-public forum. Or likely never at all. My assessment is that she either naively misunderstood what she heard. Or, she purposely twisted the statement to meet her needs. It’s likely a combination of the two, given her background.

See yesterday’s Washington Post for the mushrooming influence ops run by NON-INTEL branches of the USG, under Obama’s handlers. They call them “public outreach, information, etc.” but these are nearly identical to the Muenzenberg covert influence ops. These are run, NOT by intel, but by Labor, Interior, EPA, State, Pentagon, and many other Executive Branch offices.

These offices are now another of the transmission belts of American culture controlled by PC-Progs to amplify the anti-Normal message.

        • Gail Combs says:

Thank you very much Kent for the quick response. It did indeed smell a bit fishy. The CIA director a blabber mouth?!?

I have been looking at something else along the same lines and ran across something interesting.

Sea Level rise is one of the sticks used to beat the public over the head. A new (1998) paper Near-field hydro-isostasy: the implementation of a revised sea-level equation came out and NASA jumped on it: Glacial Isostatic Adjustment: A Survey of Recent Studies

I am still trying to make heads or tails of the Bafflegab, but it looks like they found a new way to adjust sea level rise ” the existing sea-level equation incorrectly predicts the change in sea level (and thus the ocean load) in ice-covered, subgeoidal geographic regions during periods of deglaciation…”

What was interesting was when I tried to follow up on a pointer to:
          (wwwDOT)homepage.montana.edu/~geol445/hyperglac/isostasy1/%20%5C%5C%20Rates returns

          “Sorry….homepage.montana.edu 7Egeol445 hyperglac isostasy1 20 5C 5C 20Rates’ does not exist or is not available.”

So I poked around and found Isostasy and Postglacial Rebound “This resource is no longer officially part of our collection ….” refering to cleanet in the URL.

So I continued poking around and I found it had been removed by the CLEAN project

        • Gail Combs says:

So who the heck is this TERC that is removing web pages? — TERC is based in Cambridge, MA, Cambridge is so far to the left that a communist party member (a friend)had to register as a republican so the polls could open!

          History

In 1965, Arthur Nelson and a small group of co-founders established the Technical Education Research Centers. During its early years, TERC focused on various aspects of technical and occupational education, primarily at the postsecondary level. In the early 1970s, TERC successfully initiated a series of projects that marked a transition from postsecondary technical education to K-12 science. Today we are known as TERC. This change embraces the development of our education initiatives through the years and the learners we serve, including those in K-12 classrooms, museums, afterschool programs, community colleges, adult education centers, universities, and other research institutions.
          Organizational Structure

Currently, TERC’s staff of 104—including nationally recognized leaders in educational research and curriculum development—are actively engaged in over 70 projects and 62% of staff have advanced degrees in science, mathematics, engineering, education, psychology, and technology. In 2013 TERC had $13.5 million in revenue. Each year, TERC’s products and services reach more than 3.5 million students throughout the United States.

TERC’s research and development projects are housed within three centers—the Center for School Reform, the Center for Science Teaching and Learning, the STEM Education Evaluation Center—and the Education Research Collaborative division.

And following up on CLEAN (“Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network “)

          what do I find? NOAA!

Digital resources for teaching about climate and energy – resources are reviewed by educators and scientists, annotated, and aligned with standards and benchmarks

The Teaching Climate section partnered with the Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network (CLEAN) to use the Climate Literacy guide to identify and integrate effective resources across different educational levels. The CLEAN framework for vetting, reviewing, and assuring scientific quality of climate and global change education materials on climate, energy and related topics will be very useful to teachers and educational systems across the nation.

CLEAN, the Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network Portal, was launched in 2010 as a National Science Digital Library (NSDL) Pathways project. It is led by the science education expertise of TERC, the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder, the Science Education Resource Center (SERC) at Carleton College, and NOAA. CLEAN builds on the efforts of the CLEAN Network (formerly Climate Literacy Network), and the establishment of the Climate Literacy: Essential Principles of Climate Science, and the Energy Literacy Essential Principles and Fundamental Concepts of Energy Education.

CLEAN’s primary effort is to steward a collection of educational resources around energy and climate topics and foster a community that supports learning about climate and energy topics. CLEAN’s focus has been to integrate the effective use of the educational resources across all grade levels – with a particular focus on the middle-school through undergraduate levels (grades 6-16). The activities of CLEAN include…

      From Robin:
Destroying the Dominant Social Paradigm Via Education for 21st Century Political Power and Personal Gain
      Posted on November 6, 2013

Who knew that targeting the Dominant Social Paradigm to facilitate future social change was so thoroughly underway in countries like Germany and the US and the UK by the early 80s that books were being written simply shorthanding the goal as DSP? No wonder Outcomes Based Education and systems thinking were needed via K-12 education reform globally starting in earnest in the 80s. Now that I have firmly attached my deerstalker hat on my head of curls and pulled out by magnifying glass to peruse the footnotes, let’s go back to Lester W. Milbrath and his Environmentalists:Vanguard for a New Society before pivoting to go through the troubling Brookings Institute presentation yesterday of the new Oxford report. Pushing for “a collective vision for society” and “shared global values around which a unified and enduring pathway for society can be built.”

Whew! Good thing thing Brookings has no interest in education or social policy or we might need to be worried about what they are pushing. Why? How? Who really benefits? will all need to become our habitual inquiries as we embark upon our continuing investigation into this hoped for wholesale transformation away from individualism and personal choices to a planned public sector centric economy and society. As we saw in the last several posts, this aim has gone on for decades but whether we know it or not, we are in the final stages.

So let’s go back to 1984 without Orwell to lead us and make it satirical. These have been very real, long term aims. To develop and then unite a new “sophisticated understanding of how the world works with a normative/ethical system that recognizes and addresses those realities.” That would certainly explain why as I traipse around the world via the Internet examining global ed reforms over the last 10 years or so I just keep encountering diagrams of concentric circles with “core values and core beliefs” at the center….

Now that Arctic warming has screwed up the jet stream get prepared for more frequent heat-waves. It’s the new normal.

Why the hell does it do that???????? The current image is a camera lens blocked by snow NOT the one that came up.

The amount of fossil fuel released from the tar sands would be small compared to the increases in coal fired power stations in Asia and other parts of the world.

Indonesia has overtaken Australia in coal production.

China is planning a whole heap of coal gasification plants,

Japan is building 43 coal fired power stations to replace its nuclear one.

There is a LOT of fossil fuel gradually coming on-line around the world, certainly enough to ENSURE that CO2 emission levels keep growing for the foreseeable future. 🙂

    The planet LOVES CO2 !!!!

From Richard on JoNova, this definition

    Definition of climate ultra-denier:
    (1) Does not see any proof that CO2 caused any of the warming since 1850, and does not care,
    (2) Celebrates the slight warming since 1850, and wants more warming,
    (3) Celebrates the increased CO2 since 1850, and wants more CO2 (speaking on behalf of green plants),
    (4) Considers the climate change since 1850 to be within normal natural variations,
    (5) Believes climate models are a waste of taxpayer money, with no predictive ability,
    (6) Believes most “climate scientists” should be on the unemployment line, and
    (7) Believes the “coming climate change catastrophe” is primarily a leftist scam (boogeyman) to scare people, and allow central governments, and the UN, to seize more power over ordinary citizens.

    (8) (Optional) If put in charge of the world, would throw all climate modellers in jail for disturbing the peace (the climate has been improving since 1850, for humans and green plants, yet we are not allowed to celebrate that fact because for over 40 years smarmy leftists have been (falsely) bellowing that climate change will end life on Earth as we know it).

note.. That last one, I’d add fraud, and that they should all be disbarred from ever getting anywhere near climate records again.

I’d have to disagree with #5. The climate models so far haven’t been a total loss. As Thomas Edison would have said, we now know 1000 ways not to model climate.
