Shouldn’t that be good for the green windmill power oozing from your outlets?
Isn’t more wind a good thing? More wind = more windpower?
No. Once the wind hits about 55-60 MPH ( or so, depending on the wind tower system) it is too much wind and the machines shut down. Ironic, but true.
Not enough wind and the blades don’t turn. Too much wind and the blades shut down. They are like Goldilocks systems; it has to be jjuuusssttt right.
If the same would happen in winter problems would be MUCH bigger.
Wait a couple of months and it will happen and the problems will be much bigger.
It’s a reminder that we all need to prepare for a future where the greenshirts have electricity down to a trickle. The argument to go offgrid isn’t to save the planet, but to save yourself from the eco-cult.
Thank you Steve/Tony and all the commenters. Without you and a few other blogs, I would have to believe that all genuine scientific knowledge and wisdom, common sense has left our incredibly beautiful (not a pile of trash) earth.
I showed my daughter her first look at the Milky Way the last time we were in Breckenridge (we actually went down to Hoosier Pass). Light pollution is so bad where I live now that on most nights she can actually count the stars.
She was rightfully amazed to see the Milky Way stretch across the sky.
