Summers Are A Thing Of The Past In The UK

It has been ten years since the UK had a heatwave which lasted more than two days.

Last summer the UK had two hot days on June 30 and July 1, which the Met Office declared the hottest ever.

The last real heatwave was in 1995.

The UK did have significant heatwaves in 1976 and  1995 – but none since.

I am a Brit ….. I was 16 in 1976 and remember that summer was hot hot hot !!!.
Then in 1995 I was training / running all summer and again remember it as a Great British Summer.
I now live in SOCAL so it is Summer all year round for me !!!

Keep up the good work ……………. Cheers.

  2. Scotland was even worse. For example, today we’ve had better weather (out in shirt sleeves) than we had all last summer.

Another couple of charts that would put even 3rd graders to sleep. Where is the climate crisis?

  4. Martin says:

The UK did have heat waves in 2003 (August), 2006 (July) and 2014 (July)!

  5. Martin says:

The U.K. did have other heat waves e.g. August 2003 and July 2006.

If so-called climate scientists seriously believed their own propaganda, NATURE CLIMATE CHANGEwould have sent the following paper out for review,

to publicly destroy evidence the Sun is powered by the same source of energy as atomic bombs, nuclear reactors, ordinary stars and galaxies of stars – NEUTRON REPULSION

It is rumored that there was a drought in Kent that lasted for three weeks in 1964, but I have seen no real proof.

  8. Bloke down the pub says:

Two hot days followed by a thunderstorm. Sounds pretty much like a typical British summer. I missed summer last year. I was in the bath.

  9. AndyG55 says:

Hey, I look at that Waddington graph, it seems to top out at 32C, maybe 33C.

How is that ever a “heat wave” ???

3 week without rain, maxtemps of 33C……ideal summer

Seriously, what is wrong with these guys !! 🙂

      I’m with you Andy.
How did the British Empire ever exist when they wimp out on a couple of days over 30C? The tough ones left the UK for Australia and Canada (maybe we got kicked out). One of the hottest and one of the coldest places on the planet. We work when its >+40C in Oz and when its <-30C in Canada.
The UK Met needs to have a spoonful of cement and harden the **** up.
      😀
