Berkeley Commies Protest New President

The more things change the more they stay the same:
It’s hell of a prize the cops are dragging down the stairs in the Oshkosh paper photograph. That’s a big student and I hope they didn’t hurt their backs the way they are twisted. I don’t think it would comply with today’s OSHA regulations on moving oversized loads. And can you imagine her heavy legs plonking down the steps? She should have thanked them if they didn’t drop her.
Screw that. A little CS or OC or a cattle prod would get her big ass moving all by it’s self. I’m pretty fed up with these spoiled butt heads. Time to take off the gloves.
The sad thing is Reagan didn’t reinstate the draft and didn’t reduce social programs.
He had a Democrat congress…
Trump has a Uni-Party Congress…
And an angry pack of wolverines.
Who are determined to clean house and senate…
I am sympathetic to the general negative sentiments about the D.C. political class but irrational exuberance always ends in tears. Many of the newly pro-Republican voters like their big-government social programs and are not necessarily aligned with the conservative, small-government wing of the Republican Party. And despite some grandstanding and backstabbing, the Republicans vote to confirm Trump nominees while the Democrats sabotage it.
Colorado,
Trump is actually pretty middle of the road. I spent the last year listening to his rallies and reading his books.
He wants to see our Vets taken care of.
He wants a viable health care system that does not break the bank.
He wants Social Security funded.
He wants to rebuild our infrastructure.
He wants to straighten out the God Awful mess that Obama and Hillary DELIBERATELY made in the Middle East. The leaders including Putin are coming on board. link
………….
On the other hand he does NOT want the US tax payer ‘donating’ to Planned Parenthood whether they want to or not.
He does NOT want regulations, high taxes, high energy costs chasing good paying manufacturing jobs out of the country.
He does NOT want non-citizens, legal and illegal getting first choice of Americans jobs (by taking lower wages) causing an unemployment rate of ~24% and the highest number of Americans on public Assistance EVER. Right Now We Have Longest Soup Lines In History of America, You Just Can’t See Them
He does NOT want the UN/globalists/MUSLIMS/progressives dictating what is in our schools.
The Department of Education a recent addition, and No Child Left Behind has been a complete disaster. So Trump wants to hand schooling back to the communities.
……
Trump TALKS TO PEOPLE.
He talked to groups and individuals all over this country. He talked to the black leaders. They went into his office hostile and came out on board. He talked to the Union Leaders, they came out smiling. He talked to business people and they are moving back to the USA.
The only ones who are unhappy are the Globalists and Communists and brain-dead socialists. That is why we are having the PLANNED and PAID FOR riots.

This is how Reagan dealt with violent “peace” rioters and the university’s “progressive” professors and administrators. The only thing sad about it is that these ostensible adults had to be reprimanded like children:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpg0UfpuUAs
And don’t miss the History Channel’s presenter pointing out as controversial Reagan’s insistence to not “let young people think that they have the right to choose the laws they would obey as long as they were doing it in the name of social protest“.
Reagan didn’t need to reinstate the draft. The all volunteer force his initiatives brought forth was a much better and more effective military than the force it was transformed from.
This opinion is not from history books but from personal experience. I lived it.
The standards for recruitment greatly increased and what was brought forth in the early 80’s by Reagan, Sec. Def. Weinberger, with the help of then Senator William Cohen leading the way in Congress was an amazing metamorphosis. The transition was from a demoralized post Vietnam drug addled force with a pretty high percentage of CAT V members with little direction in which married E-4s qualified for food stamps, having little backing to a motivated, physically and mentally fit, much better equipped and trained force. As the new recruitment standards were instituted the standards for those already in increased and the QMP (Qualitative Management Program) weeded those out that could or would not meet the standards.
It was an exciting time to be a soldier. To watch the massive changes occur and see so many things done that had obviously been needed and to be a part of it.
You can also thank that core of leaders for the rise of Special Operations as a centrally commanded highly adaptable and well equipped effective strategic weapon from the ashes of the post Vietnam era when the high command was trying to do away with them altogether.
It was through the efforts of that core team that the next three presidents enjoyed a much more capable US military than what Reagan had inherited from Carter. Then came Obama who lowered the standards and did his best to undermine what had been built and maintained by those predecessors in the general forces.
CAT V should have been CAT IV. The categories are based on the recruits scores on their aptitude tests.
Thanks, RAH. I was tempted to comment on the desire for draft vs. military effectiveness but I was certain you would weigh in. :)
It’s one of those days when it’s extra great to be alive. Just brought home some nice steaks to grill. I don’t give a damn if it’s in the 30s we’re hungry for a good steak and few places can do better than I do at home on my own grill. Baked potato and Caesar salad to fill out the meal. For desert Sherry is working up a batch of made from scratch date bars using some nice pitted dates I found a deal on. Love those things and so does everyone else so she’s making a triple batch.
Nice since I feel good and rested unlike the last three days while I was driving. Soon it will be time for a small snifter of Grand Mariner as an aperitif before I fire up the grill.
As for the transformation of the US military during the Regan days, I don’t expect people to understand. You just had to be there or at least be one of those people that pay close attention to US and world military affairs.
My first winter warfare with 10th SFG(A) we were outfitted in the same extreme cold weather gear that my father had been issued. All Korean war era stuff. In SF we were allowed to supplement and replace some of that old stuff with things we bought on the civilian market. The simple fact was we had too because so much of the equipment just was not suitable for what we were required to do. For example the sleeping bag I used during that first winter was given to me at my request by my parents for Christmas.
The next two winters we tested the prototypes of what would become the new extreme cold weather package plus a bunch of other new personal equipment. We didn’t just test it in the White and Green mountains. I was sent to the Army testing facility in Barrow Alaska to test certain equipment. Alterations were made based on our feedback. By the third winter we were issued what became the new US Army extreme cold weather package and after that it was soon provided as general issue to the force.
That was just one small example.
When you get down to it CW moral is a corner stone. If the leadership doesn’t seem to give a shit then neither will the troops.
Another aspect of the time was TRADOC (US Army Training and Doctrine Command). That command was given an much expanded budget and scope and the effect was evident through out the force.
The requirements for every MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) at every pay grade level were for the first time specified in hard copy and doctrine and the troops were tested to demonstrate their proficiency in the basic specific tasks required for their job and paygrade annually. At the same time they were tested to demonstrate their proficiency in what they call “common skills tasks” or IOW the things that all soldiers should know how to do like putting on and testing a gas mask, doing CPR, etc…
Ah, the good old days. When police still arrested subversives.
If the police continue to fail to do their job and enforce the law there will come a time when people will take the law into their own hands to protect their property and their rights. There was absolutely no excuse for the police not protecting the innocent and their property.
Currently, these protests seem to occur where people are forbidden to defend themselves. You don’t see this level of protest in areas with open carry laws. You don’t see it in the “fly-over states” that elected Trump. Maybe we should be content that the protesters are destroying the states their own party won. They are inflicting damage on themselves.
A very well made point, Sheri :-)
Your outrage should be directed at the administrators, and former DHS head Janet Napolitano, who’s the President of the UC system. The UC police don’t just act on their own judgement in a riot situation. They act at the direction of the administrators.
You can bet there was some administrator telling them to hold back as the riot progressed. Unfortunately, unlike Baltimore, where it was very clear that the Mayor had the ultimate responsibility for their police inaction in their riots, there’s no such person in this case. No one is going to call that person out. Not the business owners, since it was a few banks and a Starbucks that were damaged. And none of the administrators will care about the UC property that was damaged as it is taxpayer money that will cover it.
I went to UC Berkeley and they constantly are calling me for donations. They can go screw themselves if they think I’ll donate since they aren’t good stewards of the money they already get.
Well then lets just do away with the police. If they will not protect the innocent and enforce the law there is absolutely no need for them.
Actually the UC president is on the hook and I hope they sue the crap out of him PERSONALLY!

Berkeley College Republicans required to raise up to $10,000 to host Milo Yiannopoulos
UC Berkeley Receives $370 Million in Federal Funding, More Than Half Its Budget
E.M. Smith
My city government just turned down a proposed ordinance to arrest protestors blocking streets and/or parading without a permit. Currently the law just requires a ticket. One opposed person said mentioned that she didn’t want to “get arrested for civil disobedience.” Huh? I thought the definition of civil disobedience was openly violating the law and subjecting oneself to potential arrest. What a bunch of lightweights.
The same loony tunes that were around then are still with us today. Or at least their children and grandchildren. Nothing ever changes. The same 2% of the population is still kicking and screaming way out of proportion to their numbers.
It’s well past the time to start making snow flakes melt. I’m thinking of another Kent State but with flame throwers.
They were born ~1960 so they are now ~55 to 60. So yes they are still around.
The ironies are too many to count:
1. 53 years earlier leftists protested on the same spot for right of Free Speech
2. Sproul Hall was rainbow bathed while the crowd rioted to stifle a gay man from speaking
3. The Building the rioters trashed was Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union
Things get interesting…
Looks like Berserkly really stepped in the doggy-poo this time.

The $10,000 demand by the Berkley Admin was negotiated down to $6,000 because the original demand was unprecedented in University history.
Considering the piss poor job the playschool did in providing any sort of protection, if the school doesn’t refund every penny, the school should be sued for millions.
The news gets more and more bizzare…

I even received an email from the Chancellor (as a UCB alum) that had a very different tone than in the past. Condemning the actions of the actions of the rioters and saying they support free speech. That is of course a BS letter, but I think even they realize there will be blowback from this on the UC system. The UC system has been systematically banning speakers for years. Either outright saying no, or through things like security fees sprung on the organizers at the last minute. It doesn’t help that the UC system is hugely underfunded now and constantly asking for donations from alumni. Guaranteed that many alumni are going to be scaling back.
So let’s see….
After the pussy hats, BLM and burning Ferguson, rioting destroying burning, attacking people and putting them in the hospital, fake news, on and on
Just to keep it real…they come up with this
Dems Wonder If Perpetual Outrage Hurting Party…””you think?..just because you’ve ramped up doing the very things that made you lose the election?””

If you criticize President Obama, you are a racist. Milo Yiannopoulos is Jewish according to Jewish law, he is openly homosexual, he openly confessed to having black boyfriends, and he happens to be in the US on a visa. Thus, the alternative fact story is that the Berkeley rioters are anti-semitic, anti-imigrant, racist homophobes out to suppress the free speech rights of the liberals who are the voices for such suppressed people.
Yep, that worked out really well.
Snicker…
One of the reasons we love Milo is because he is so outrageous and because he shows how hypocritical the Lefties really are.
His gathering after the Orlando killings was really good.

……………..
If you look at history you can figure out what the Progressives game is.
“One who observed and understood was the Creel Committee foreign educational section member, and future dean of Teachers College, William R. Russell. He was in Russia soon after the Bolsheviks seized power and spent considerable time there, working on Creel propaganda against the Germans, for the Bolsheviks, and later against the Bolsheviks. Russell described how he saw the communist tradecraft:”

Never forget that the European bankers that saddled Americans with the Federal Reserve then took that money and gave it to Trotsky. The purpose was to instigated the Revolution that overthrew the new government that was patterning itself after the US government.
Trump has a lot to do, but deep within me is a tiny spark of hope that by the end of 8 years, he might even be able to undo the creation of the federal reserve. I know it is a tall order.
But we have seen this country fall so low from where it had been and gone where we had never thought it would go, and then to have seen a glimmer of hope and possibly a setting back of things that we never thought could happen.
Trump and all those he hires or appoints, need our support and our prayers.

These are Black Bloc Thugs. In the past three months they’ve been very visible. They dress in black clothing and ski masks They provoke police, break windows, set fires, smash electrical boxes, spray-paint buildings, and beat the crap out of people. They seem to be Communist/Anarchists using a technique perfected in Europe.
This is their handy work at Berkeley
