    5 nil on 28 minutes . . . Not a match really

  2. B.C. says:

Holy crap! It’s 5-0 and they still aren’t even close to halftime. Someone, somewhere, will surely blame Brazil’s utter collapse on Glow Bull Worming.

  3. SteveO says:

    Break a leg!

  4. Anything is possible says:

Five goals in the first thirty minutes. What’s not to like?

  5. Don says:

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……………….

Only if you’re Brazilian, Holland to make it an all European final tomorrow.

    Never discount the Germans, 1954 v Hungary 1974 v Holland 1990 v Argentina beat the better footballing.team.

1966 beaten by a Russian Linesman,

  8. TomC says:

I already shut the game off. What’s left to watch?

  9. Fredrik says:

    It is unbelievable…

  10. phodges says:

    Hard to believe.

I grew up studying Brazil world cup play….but I have to say after watching their performance so far this was predictable.

    Pretty embarrassing though.

  11. omnologos says:

    Is Wimbledon still on?

  12. B.C. says:

Brazilians will be calling for the German team to be brought up on charges at The Hague after this massacre. 🙂

  13. Sundance says:

I coached for German Club, Schwaben AC, and I know they will be hoisting plenty of Stiegl Beer tonight at the club facility. I’m also very happy to see a Polish boy set the all time World Cup scoring record.

  14. Cheshirered says:

The worst result in their entire history for Brazil. Germany were superb.

  15. Sundance says:

Brazilian fans in the stands are showing the world that they have a great deal of class and I hope this holds true outside the stadium tonight.

    • B.C. says:

Yeah, let’s hope so. They came over the stadium public address system right before the end of the match and asked the German fans to remain inside until the Brazilian fans had left, in order for them to escorted out by security forces.

    • Lawrence13 says:

Well they could riot and wreck their Favelas………hold on poor sods, it may actually tidy them up .

  16. Lawrence13 says:

The Germans feel at home in South America, especially Brazil as many of them finished up hiding there after ze war.

  17. R. de Haan says:

Brazilians have to reinvent football and change their drinking habits:

    Steven Goddard/Tony,

Nice presentation by you at ICCC.
Very alarming the way you present the obvious manipulation in the temperature record by the government “bookkeepers”.
Your time at the podium seemed short.
Very effective when you present it like that.
That would be great on TV.

  19. Dalcio Dacol says:

Very unfair: Germany had a goalkeeper and a defense, Brazil had none!

  20. markstoval says:

Anyone have a link to a video of Tony’s presentation?

    TIA.

  21. Gamecock says:

I hope they have an armored bus for the German team.

A friend at the gym said they might need one for the BRAZILIAN TEAM!

TV pix of one of the beaches showed it empty. Not a happy time in Brazil.

  22. bit chilly says:

combination of a good german team and a poor brazilian team, must be hard to take for them at home . an all european final in south america is a distinct possibility . my wife drew germany in the sweep at work ,already in the money.

  23. philjourdan says:

With the USA out, I am pulling for Germany, so worst is a relative matter. 😉

  24. Truthseeker says:

Germany has 5 players that play together at the club level. I see this as confirmation of a theory I have had for a while now about how to win the World Cup.

You get some patriotic and very rich person or syndicate to buy a club in one of the top leagues in Europe – Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, etc. It does not have to be Real Madrid or Manchester United or City. It can be a middle of table club for this purpose. As owners you sign all your likely national squad members for the next World Cup as the club roster with the national coach as manager and you play week in and week out together. By the time the World Cup comes around, even USA or Australia becomes a real prospect because the combinations have been sorted out and the understanding between players lifts the team to a new level.

Simples. Now if I could just get the many millions of dollars that would be necessary to do this …

  25. Brian G Valentine says:

Arjen (Aaron) Robben stage flopping in front of about a billion people was the limit for me. I couldn’t take any more

  26. ktwop says:

Blitzkrieg on the football field – Super-blitzing-smarti-crushing-virtuosity.

  27. Andy Oz says:

Froome looks like he is out of the Tour. Big crash and broken collarbone.

    • Truthseeker says:

      The fix was in!

    • philjourdan says:

When you consider the number of people betting, it is not a surprise (I am sure 4 had Brazil winning by the same margin).

4 seems to be the lucky number. if I remember correctly, 3 years ago, 4 people had the exact final 4 when it was the lowest seeded final 4 in history! VCU (#11), Butler (#8), Kentucky (#4) and Connecticut (#3)
