  1. Taphonomic says:

The Obama administration is classifying this as another example of workplace violence.

  2. gator69 says:

Makes waterboarding at Gitmo look like a game of beer pong.

I’m sure it is all our fault, and we are all racists and bigots for talking about this.

What was that other post about calling a spade a spade? Nevermind.

  3. Slywolfe says:

    I suggest pork fat napalm.

  4. Gail Combs says:

I am sure Pope Francis will find a way to apologize for this action too. After all the pilot must have “insult the faith of others…. [and therefore] he can expect a punch”

_Jim I really do not care if he is speaking as a man or a Pope he is a World Leader DEFENDING those who would restrict our freedom of speech by using fear. He even makes that clear when he says

“If my good friend Dr. Gasparri says a curse word against my mother, he can expect a punch,” Francis said, throwing a pretend punch…

Do not ever forget that Francis is a Marxist. Venezuela’s Bishops Have A Message For Pope Francis on Communism

So perhaps that is the reason he backs the Islamists as a man…

The Left entertains Islamist censorship demands because it has its own list of speech and ideas liberals would like to suppress. Giving up the right to draw pictures of Muhammad is a small down payment on more speech restrictions to come. Islamists are kicking open a door that socialists across the Western world would like to pass through.

The Heckler’s Veto is designed to make free speech a difficult calculation. It is a tactic favored by those who believe our commitment to free speech will inevitably crumble, if the price is made high enough. Even if you give Zuckerberg full credit for the good intentions he expressed, he’s still negotiating: Facebook with heavy censorship is better than taking a firm stand and leaving some people with no Facebook at all. It’s not an illogical position–but peer into the details, and you will once again see a very large devil grinning back at you.

Leading figures in business, media, and politics across the world are deciding that free speech is more trouble than it’s worth. You can expect the value of speech to be marked down even further.

The Western World Is Not Really Dedicated to Free Speech

    • Tom In Indy says:

Gail, I don’t disagree, but those were Episcopalian Bishops, not Catholic. I doubt Episcopalian’s have much influence with Pope Francis.

Here’s what the pope actually said in December –
Francis several times condemned Islamic State’s insurgents during his three-day trip. On the plane, he said some Christians had been forced to abandon everything: “They are driving us out of the Middle East.”

      • Gail Combs says:

Tom, That is not the part of his speech that is disturbing.

He is STILL saying he favors the censoring of the freedom of speech. He is STILL saying violence is an acceptable reaction to an insult.

I do not care if he is joking or not. He is a World Leader and he is sending the WRONG MESSAGE!

        • hannuko says:

I am a firm beliver in a freedom of speech. The pope has insulted me deeply with his careless words.

I wonder if it is now ok for me to punch him in the face.

        • au1corsair says:

America’s First Amendment to the Constitution (and the Constitution’s very limited definition of treason) is hateful to many. Freedom of Religion and freedom from (state-imposed) religion anger and insult many. It gets better–“you don’t talk about Fight Club” (there goes free speech and free press). Wait–when two or more people get together to discuss politics (or religion) they exercise their First Amendment right to peaceably assemble–which often leads to “lobbyists” sending petitions to Congress–those TEA Party people and those supporting a gay agenda…

Of course the Pope has to “limit” speech. It’s his job description. Defending the Faith means silencing competing messages. Right now open minds are more dangerous to the Faith than militant Islam. Open minds question the many falsehoods of the Global Warming faith, too.

      • There is no substitute for total victury. says:

In my humble opinion it was professional courtesy that prevented Pope Francis from condemning the practitioners of the Religion of Peace for burning people alive. Francis’s predecessors do not have a good history of tolerance and brotherly love when it comes to meting out harsh punishments to its detractors as Tony pointed out recently with the example of Giordano Bruno who was burned at the stake in 1600 for the crime of being right..

    • Michael 2 says:

No more “turn the other cheek” it appears.

  5. cyclimus says:

Barbaric. Jordan must follow through on their threat now.

  6. bleakhouses says:

I guess they feel that we were insufficient terrified by the beheadings.

  7. DontGetOutMuch says:

One wonders what the SCOAMF will do now… I mean with all the Globul Warming it is too cold to golf.

  8. Hugh K says:

    Sad…RIP Muath.
But talk about your super-sized carbon foot-print….where is the alarmist outrage over this crime against the planet by ISIS?

  9. Margaret Berger says:

They had to ramp up the fear factor. The beheadings were no longer appaling enough. As each atrocity becomes commonplace and the audience numb a new more horrifying level of depravity will be introduced. The goal is to establish by deed their intention to rule the world. You will be part of them or die. This will attract those who wish to be on the winning side to them as they appear to be stronger in their convictions and resolve than their enemies. Make no mistake about it, we are the enemy and they live and die to destroy us.

  10. dom says:

    Revelation 6: 9-11; aka The 5th Seal.

This is terrible; reminiscent of the horrific dark ages.

Amazing how this event gets less attention than a football game….

  11. Psalmon says:

Meanwhile at UC Davis, the muslims/”Palestinians” organize a boycott of Israel and chant allah akbar as Jewish students walk out of the council meeting. Someone later paints swastikas on the Jewish fraternity and a voting muslim member of council tweets that sharia law is coming to campus.

Women on campus just go about their daily business. Ho hum, I hope my burkha is blue.

    • Gail Combs says:

That is one thing I just can not understand.

I am old enough that I HAD to take Home Ec but was not allowed to take shop or drafting or run on the track team. I was not ALLOWED by my college counselor to become a chem engineer. Instead he signed me up for the courses for chemistry WITHOUT informing me or my parents.

I am old enough to remember when women were not allowed to go out after dark without a male escort even in our safe little town. I remember my Mother, who earned more than Dad, was handed a weekly amount and not allowed to handle her own money.

Reasonable equality in the work place is very very recent and these idiots want to toss it on the dung heap.

They need to live a couple of years like Bosch Fawstin female relatives did.

  12. Llanero says:

That’s horrible. I hope Obama can find the youtube video that is responsible.

  13. oldfossil says:

It’s difficult to think about these barbarities without compromising your own humanity. The first instinct is to propose violent retribution but that would mean that ISIS have won.

  14. Margaret Berger says:

To eliminate a threat to one’s exsistance does not compromise one’s humanity.

  15. If winning is being the last person standing, I am in it for the win.

    • Gail Combs says:

The only way to deal with a bully is to SCARE the living daylights out of him.

This is certainly not the first time the USA has had to SCARE the living daylights out of the Barbary Pirates. Thomas Jefferson created the Marines for the purpose of dealing with the Islamic pirates. The Barbary Wars began in 1801 because the Muslims were kiddnapping US ships and crews and holding them for ransom. Reagan studied it to deal with the flare-up during his presidency.

The world has constantly had to deal with the aggression of Islam jih?d. This is just the latest round and the worst in a while because the Muslims see the politicians in the EU and the USA as weak and therefore they will go for the throat if they can.

Ambitious camel humpers aren’t they! I believe they are mistaken in their belief that even the leadership of most Muslim countries will embrace their sickness.

  16. Bully/cowards always go for the “soft” target. Don’t be a soft target and they won’t go after you.

  17. SMS says:

The barbarity of ISIS is incredible. They need to be destroyed, and quickly. The longer it takes to crush this group of animals, the more chances they have to capture and immolate others. Too bad our president is such an idiot. He is responsible for this mess because he didn’t finish the job when he had the chance to do so.

My heart goes out to the family of the slain Jordanian airman. How awful to know that your son was killed in such a heinous way.

  18. Gail, I think appeasement is non gender specific. I also suspect that it is dna coded as a survival strategy just as being a non appeaser is also in the code as a survival strategy. Mother Nature wants a mix of each. It makes life challenging.

Willy, nicely said. A rational fear increases one’s chances of survival and teaches one how not to be a soft target.

  19. Jones says:

This is fake. Why? Because its from an Israeli source.

    • Gail Combs says:

GEE If it is FAKE then Why is the King of Jordan about to fly a plane leading a retaliation strike?

Go pedal your Jewish phobia else where.
