NASA has repeatedly altered global temperature data, causing a net doubling of 1880-1980 global warming since their 1981 version. Pre-1965 years keep getting colder, and post-1965 years keep getting warmer. (Note that prior to 2003, NASA did not even pretend to know pre-1950 ocean temperatures.)
This is on top of the changes Hansen had already made by 1981, erasing half of the 1940-1970 cooling. Since 1981 they have erased the rest of the 1940-1970 cooling.
One thing driving this is the disappearance of truly rural stations, which is causing more and more UHI damage to the temperature record.
They liked their 1981 data, so they published it. Then, they said the 1981 data wasn’t right so they altered it in 1999 saying all was correct and good publishing the new “improved” data.
In 2014 they say the 1999 and all other data bases since weren’t good, so they altered them, too. Why should I believe the new 2014 data…none of their previous data sets have withstood their own test of time?

The current USHCN is now under control because of the USCRN.
The warming trend fabricated in the USA has now stopped.
It actually has a slight cooling trend since USCRN was established.
Much as the satellites bought GISS and HadCrut somewhat under control.
(Although since Gavin took over, he seems to be pushing current temperatures up, regardless)
All they are left with is continually down-adjusting past temperatures and trying to warm places where they think people won’t notice.. like Paraguay.
That is urban legend. The adjustments are accelerating. USCRN has had no impact.
Analogous with the Taliban destroying the centuries-old Afghan Buddha statues for no other reason than the statues mere presence threatened their religious beliefs.
Soooo waiting for the inevitable NASA fraud trial when Americans finally grow weary of outrageous heating bills and/or rolling brownouts because the Feds religious beliefs were threatened by coal plants.
Climate scientist have become far more sophisticated in making expert adjustments. Adjustments with one purpose only, to keep the hysteria going and keep the grant money flowing!
