Marcott made a new hockey stick, by putting a low pass filter on a grossly inadequate data set, and then switched measurement systems in mid-stream and put a high pass filter on another grossly inadequate data set.
He did so many things wrong, that he would probably get tossed out of any engineering school for fraud.
But he did one thing right – produced utter garbage which backed the scientific and political orthodoxy.

This is another act of desperation by the Warmists in a last-ditch attempt to prop up their crumbling pet theory. Perhaps, today’s release of the Climategate 3.0 documents will finish them off for good. Trying to expose the errors and deliberate deception in each new alarmist research paper is like playing Whac-A-Mole. As long as there’s another buck to be made from the AGW scam, the scientists-turned-carnival barkers won’t go away.
Indeed, except AGW never has and never will amount to scientific theory.
