A review of voter registration data for ten counties in Colorado details a pattern of voter bloat inflating registration rolls to numbers larger than the total voting age population. Using publicly available voter data and comparing it to U.S. Census records reveals the ten counties having a total registration ranging between 104 to 140 percent of the respective populations. Counties such as Gilpin and Hinsdale have 110 percent of their populations registered to vote. Gilpin County has a total population of 5,441 with 17.4% of the population below the voting age, making the highest possible number of registered voters 4,494. Currently Gilpin County has 4909 registered voters. Hinsdale County has a total population of 830 with 20% of the population below the voting age, making the highest possible number of registered voters 664. At 110 percent registration, that means that there are 515 excess voter registrations in Gilpin county and 68 excess registrations for Hinsdale.
Vote early and vote often for Obama.

I am not surprised that there are more registered voters than residents, particularly in counties that have seen a decline in population. Gilpin County had 6690 people in 1900. Many counties are not very good at removing deceased voters from the rolls. What you need to look for is more VOTES than possible or as many votes as registered voters. Another problem is a resident who died out of state. Many states will not share their official death records with other states so it is nearly impossible to do an accurate purge of records. This was revealed when an audit was done of North Carolina’s registration rolls was done and neither Virginia nor South Carolina would share their death records. So you live in North Carolina, are driving through Virginia one day and get killed in a car accident. North Carolina voting records people never get an official notice of your death because the death certificate was issued in Virginia, not North Carolina.
I’d be wondering how many voters on those rolls are over 100 years old.
There were 3,338 votes cast in Gilpin County which looks perfectly possible with a population of 5,441.
