Rand Paul Scores A Big Win For America

Rand Paul got results from his filibuster.

Attorney General Eric Holder wrote Sen. Rand Paul,R-Ky., to confirm that President Obama does not have the authority to kill an American on U.S. soil in a non-combat situation, Obama’s spokesman announced today.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney quoted from the letter that Holder sent to Paul today. “Does the president have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on an American soil?” Holder wrote, per Carney. “The answer is no.”

Note that Holder did not rule out other methods of murdering Americans.

I don’t trust anything Obama or Holder say, but having this on the record makes it possible to slow them down a little.

    Define ‘combat’.

      ^^^ THIS!

      Denialism.

    • leftinbrooklyn says:

Right. If American citizens must go to combat against their tyranny, then it’s bombs away.

      • squid2112 says:

Wouldn’t matter much. Our government is majorly outnumbered. Most of our military would surely side with the citizens. The DHS and all the kings men could not stop such a force as the American citizenry. But they would try to make it more difficult I am sure.

      • leftinbrooklyn says:

        Agreed.

And they certainly are trying to make it more difficult: it’s called gun control.

      • squid2112 says:

Yeah, well, at the end of the day that isn’t going to work out so well for them. If I were them, I would be afraid of such attempts, very afraid. At some point they will unleash a force that they cannot recon with and will not be able to control. This will not end well for them.

    Gotta protect those banksters…

    http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2013/03/are-attorney-general-holders-statements-on-banks-and-drones-connected.html

The Attorney General of the United States made the following 2 statements within 48 hours:

The president can assassinate American citizens on U.S. soil

The big banks shouldn’t be prosecuted, as that would destabilize the economy

These statements may – at first glance – seem unconnected….

DHS coordinated with big banks to shut down occupy…and FOIA’d FBI documents reveal plans to assassinate OWS activists…

Jason Leopold, an investigative journalist for Truth-Out, has obtained FBI documents – through the Freedom of Information Act – relating to Occupy Wall Street. Most of the pages in the documents are redacted, and show concerns of cyber threats against the financial sector. However, there are questions of assassination plots against Occupy activists in Houston, Texas. Because the documents have redactions, it is not clear who or what group was planning the assassinations.

On page 61, the section reads: “An identified [redacted] of October planned to engage in sniper attacks against protesters in Houston, Texas, if deemed necessary. An identified [redacted] had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. [Redacted] planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest groups and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership via suppressed sniper rifles.”

The bottom of page 68 and the top of page 69 reads: “On October 13, 2011, writer sent via email an excerpt [redacted] regarding FBI Houston’s [redacted] to all IA’s, SSRA’s and SSA [redacted]. This [redacted] identified the exploitation of the Occupy Movement by [redacted] interested in developing a long-term plan to kill local Occupy leaders via sniper fire.”

“Might slow them down a little bit” would surely be a blessing (and, if anything, is sorely needed). Sen. Paul received an answer to his “additional” question, as Holder impugned, but I think the issue goes far deeper–as in, “does the President have the authority to order the killing of an American on U.S. soil with a pair of scissors, a baseball bat, or a tire iron?” Makes one wonder what Andrew Breitbart or Vincent Foster would testify to were they still numbered among us.

Is there still anyone who trusts the government? Raise your hand, Even in government you won’t find anyone who trusts the government. They really have a hard time the know how it works.

Now this is amazing. Notorious communist Van Jones says Rand Paul was a hero yesterday…

The most disgusting thing about modern Democrats is how easily they shed their old values. In the 60’s they were all about mistrusting the government and exercising their free speech rights. Now it’s the Tea Party types that do that while Dems routinely call for voices to be silenced and rights to be taken away. They too readily embrace the trappings of totalitarianism. I’m glad this is dawning on the likes of Jones. Mistrust of power should be the ultimate American value.
