So is the Zombie in Norfolk nebraska. Apparently all Zombies are now black as well.

  2. Well, the Democrats do hate the guy.

  3. Chip Bennett says:

Eric Holder is a walking hate-crime enabler.

Finally gullible voters are waking up. Took them long enough; voted for Obama twice and for their jobs zero.

‘scuze me while I chuckle on that one … coulda been a counter-operative democrat “whodunnit” too. Very easy to play on the stereotypes of the opposition in cases like this as the ‘press’ laps up the first thing that pops into their little ‘PC’ minds …

    So what is WTOP?

    • _Jim says:

WTOP *was* the callsign of a 50 kW AM Radio station at 1500 kHz on the dial pre-2005 in the Washington DC area.

WTOP is now a callsign used by an FM station (or two?)

      WTOP – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WTOP-FM

The station on 1500 kHz now uses the callsign WFED http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WFED

WTOP’s slogan is: “Washington’s News, Traffic and Weather Station”

Back in the day when AM ruled the airwaves, I used to pick up WTOP way down in Florida.

Also, WBT out of Charlotte (Henry Bogan show), Stan Major out of Philly, WWL in New Orleans, and occasionally St. Loius (KMOX) and Dallas, and even Chicago (WBBM).

KMOX had a very interesting live trivia game show.

50,000 watts got you a lot further back then. 😉

        • _Jim says:

Yes … FCC has clobbered up a lot of the Class A clear channels with (by allowing the licensing of) local/regional lower-powered AMs that cover the Class A’s that used to be heard .. another example is 820 WBAP used to be copyable in Chicago at dawn but is now covered by a local (which USED TO BE a daytime only when first licensed but now is running 24 hr/day) …

I use to pick up WWWE out of Cleveland on the trip between Blacksburg VA and Richmond VA.

This smply isn’t true. Here’s what’s really happening:
The headline is : D.C. police investigating ASSAULT as hate crime

    Monday – 7/29/2013, 10:00am ET
    By Jamie Forzato
    More Reports
WASHINGTON – D.C. police are investigating a recent assault as a hate crime.

At about 1:20 a.m. Saturday, police say a white man was attacked in the 1700 block of Euclid Street in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Northwest D.C.

Three black men approached the victim and stole his iPhone and his wallet. The suspects also beat the man.

The victim told police that during the assault and robbery, the suspects said, “This is for Trayvon Martin.”

“The community is absolutely safe and there’s no pattern to these type of crimes,” says Officer Araz Alali, a D.C. police spokesman.

Alali calls the incident “outrageous.” He is optimistic that the suspects will be caught.

The victim suffered from minor injuries.

    • So many experts. So little information

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) – The Maryland State Police are investigating as a hate crime graffiti on a former military building proposed as housing for immigrant children in Westminster.
Saturday night or early Sunday, someone spray-painted the former Army Reserve Center with this message: “NO ILLEAGLES HERE NO UNDOCUMENTED DEMOCRATS.”

    • That is a completely different crime. Perhaps if you read what Steven Goddard wrote you wouldn’t look like an idiot.

    • Hugh K says:

“This smply [sic] isn’t true.” said the person who believes/supports the 2014 Liar of the Year.

  8. _Jim says:

Okay, it does look like a democrat counter-op. Other new reports provide more detail on the actual message:

The spray-painted message states: “No illeagles here. No undocumented Democrats.” [reports] Lt. Patrick McCrory, commander of the state police …

This border situation has truly gotten out of hand. For a guy (Obama) who talks about fairness as much as he does, I wonder what he has to say to the individuals who choose to follow the law, wait in line, go through the process, and become US citizens.

“News” on WTOP has always been a strange business. Can’t count the number of stories they’ve gotten wrong in 50 years.

When they first changed to AccuWx for their forecasts (maybe 1998?) we started checking and found they hit the temp too high every day, (without exception) for over 2 weeks.

Around 1992, their sports director refused to use the word “Redskins” on the air, as a new policy. The morning report used terms like “The Superbowl Champs” or “Washington’s NFL team”. He was gone in about a month and everything went back to normal.

  11. Don says:

Federal judge refuses to refer to the Redskins as the Redskins, orders both sides to not call them Redskins in court hearings. Prior restraint? Insanity for certain.

    http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2014/07/15/judge-refuses-to-use-redskins-name-in-ruling/

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — A federal judge has joined the ranks of those refusing to use the Washington Redskins’ nickname.

U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte issued a pretrial ruling last week in a lawsuit against the team in which he explicitly refused to use the Redskins name. In a footnote, he noted that his refusal to use the name was a conscious decision but did not elaborate.

Lawyers on the case told The Washington Post that Messitte also ordered them not to use the name in court hearings.

So which group is having hate directed towards it?
Illegals are not made up of one nationality. Political p-arty affiliation was not on any list I could find.

    • inMAGICn says:

The very notion of “hate crime,” like “thought police” is anathema to free people in a free society.

      • Jl says:

Exactly. So according to the thought police, one’s emotions (how do they know?) can give you a stiffer sentence? How in the world our Supreme Court let this Orwellian nightmare pass a constitutional test is beyond me.

4 libs and a squish is all it takes …

        • jst1 says:

“How in the world our Supreme Court let this Orwellian nightmare pass a constitutional test is beyond me.”
It’s called the rational basis test.

          re: jst1 July 16, 2014 at 2:19 pm

Kinda like when Plessy v. Ferguson was decided? Was that based on “the rational basis test” too? That was a 7 to 1 decision. There might have been some ‘other issues’ with that decision that also needed addressing in the the years to follow …

          .

        • jst1 says:

Beyond destruction of property, there is nothing else to talk about in this case.

Other issues with Plessy aside, rational basis is the open door through which activist government supporters walk through on a regular basis. This relates to the creation and enforcement of particular laws as well as the granting of additional power to government not otherwise enumerated. Commerce clause jurisprudence comes to mind. My favorite quote from the smartest mane in the world (Richard Epstein) applies here.
“But if you are a modern Progressive and you start to believe that anytime you think you can improve an economy by anything that you want to do, all notions of individual rights start to disappear in favor of an implied right of action, in the name of the common good, that the government can impose upon us and you end up with Obamacare.”

WTOP is a classic example of what happens when you hire people based on political correctness rather than competence and intelligence. You should hear them butchering the pronounciation of words and places.
