Not only is Gavin altering data, but he is changing data past his own error bars, shown in green and blue below.

It must be tough on poor Gavin.

The whole the alarmista agenda rests solely on his feeble shoulders.

He MUST keep finding warming somehow, somewhere, NO MATTER WHAT…

… or the whole façade comes crashing down.

Look, every time he takes LSD, he has to toy with the data to make it look prettier.

Oh, i just got a call from some former friends who marched last fall in the We Hate Warm Weather brigade in Manhattan. I scolded them about this and said, ‘We will have a brutal winter again! Are you NUTS???’

Well, they called me begging for me to snow plow and dig them out!!! I said nope. Ask for more global warming. If they pray literally for colder winters, they must suffer the consequences.

Good for you! nothing like a bit of cold icy reality to wake people up to the fact that cold and frozen is a lot worse than warm.

The only really good thing about living outside in a cold climate vrs. a warm one is fewer chances for exposure to new diseases. When I told my old paratrooper Dad that I was going to a unit specializing in cold weather Alpine ops he made a remark that I never forgot. He said “Good, far fewer diseases to deal with”. And that is a fact when comparing a cold environment to a tropical one. Vector borne diseases laid low about as many Marines on Guadalcanal as the Japanese did during the defense of Henderson Field.

But cold does kill, and it injures. The two costliest battles US ground troops fought in during WW II were the Battle of the Bulge and the invasion of Okinawa. During the Battle of the Bulge US troops suffered nearly 4 environmental casualties for every combat casualty. On Okinawa environmental casualties were not much of a factor at all. But one needs to factor in the that the majority US troops were not properly dressed. Earlier the decision had been made withhold shipments of cold weather gear in order to enable the supply chain to provide more POL, munitions, and weapons to sustain offensive operations.

I sometimes think one of the reasons Ted Turner and his buddies want to do Pleistocene rewilding in the USA is because they want to do their big game hunting here in the USA instead of in Africa where there is a very real risk of ending up dead from som exotic disease.

Which large animals are suggested for rewilding?

Barlow: If one adopts an end-Pleistocene benchmark, then it is time to bring back the American cheetah, the American camel, the American plains lion, the American mastodons and mammoths, and other species by using proxies from the Old World to restart their evolution in the New, and to restore their vital roles as shapers of ecological landscapes.

Let’s take the camel as an example. Camels originated here in North America, not in the Old World, around 50 million years ago. They spent most of their time here, but then around 3 million years ago they crossed from Alaska to Siberia and moved down into Asia and into the African continent.///

Why choose megafauna over other animals; many animals have gone extinct.
Barlow: Whenever humans have set foot in a landscape, since the time when they could kill at a distance with stones and spears, they killed off megafauna. Humans hunted the megafauna to extinction…. [Except it is now thought a mass extinction event that almost wiped out humans is what actually happened.]

This is a different look at WWF from the point of view of an African people and it shows the WWF’s slimy side:

Here are the you princes who have recently come out against hunting, showing how they truly live up to their ideals. Looks they are both candidates for the WWF. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2878309/As-Prince-William-campaigns-save-endangered-species-relatives-different-approach.html

      emsnews–thanks for making me smile!!

True alarmists blame CAGW for the more severe winters; your former friends must be lukewarmers.

If any real scientist was caught going back and changing old data to fit their new ideas they would be stripped of their diplomas and end up driving a cab. This is a prime example of why using temperature anomalies is problematic. They can change all of the data by simply changing the underlying trend they use to calculate the anomaly. If they were reporting an actual temperature instead, it would be more “written in stone”. At least the calculation would be objective, transparent, and verifiable.
