Renew your stoopid and support the Union of Concerned Scientists!

“The Scientific Method” is so old school!

Who you going to believe? Your lying thermometers and that foot of snow dropped last night or those sterling examples of peoplehood?

    Union Of Concerned Story Changers.

Seriously, they should be smacked in the face (figuratively) with their own material, from (a very short, in the scheme of things) 9 years ago. I also expect they started changing their story a couple of years ago only when things weren’t going as expected.

  4. Rud Istvan says:

I worked in grad school with someone who became a USC staffer, back when. It is apparent their cognitive skills have not improved since. Defend scientists? They have none on staff. Never had.

  5. gofer says:

“Because of sparse data and short data records, it will take time to advance the understanding of these phenomena but clear trends are emerging.”

Of course, its a predetermined trend even with sparse and short data that trend is sure to emerge.

Did Stalin actually start the Soviet Union of Concerned Scientists ?

  7. D. Self says:

Union of concerned Communists is what I heard and make the most sense. But the reality is 50% of the US population believes everything these ass wipes say.

  8. Boston MIke says:

Not to be too technical, but what a bunch of meatballs! All you need to know is on the cover of the report 2 Brattle Square, Cambridge, MA i.e. Harvard, where political correctness trumps science and facts.

Seems Boston and “Brattle Square, Cambridge, MA i.e. Harvard” are getting a really good taste of Gore Bull Warbling.

Roofs [are] collapsing beneath the weight of 5 feet or more snow in less than two weeks. Five feet! Potentially record-low temperatures later this week.

Massachusetts emergency management officials confirm that snow-laden roofs collapsed on Monday in Quincy, Rockland and Bridgewater. No injuries were reported.

Boston set a record for the most snow recorded in a 30-day period, with 61.6 inches (156 cm) by 7 a.m. Monday, breaking the old record of 58.8 inches set in February 1978.

Boston has also set a record for the snowiest seven-day period, with over 40 inches, the National Weather Service said last week. The city is way past its average annual snowfall of 47 inches….

As of mid-afternoon, more than 2 feet (60 cm) of fresh snow had piled up in parts of New England, breaking records set during the Blizzard of 1978. The National Weather Service reported up to 24.5 inches in areas south of Boston.

Forecasts called for 6 to 12 inches of snow across much of Connecticut and parts of upstate New York, and about 8 inches in southern Maine.

More snow is expected Thursday and again next weekend.

The situation is “pretty much unprecedented,” said Massachusetts’ Gov. Charlie Baker. “We’ve never seen this type of snow in the city of Boston at any other time in the history of our city.”

Potentially record-low temperatures later this week

Meanwhile, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency warned of potentially record-low temperatures later this week.

Now if only The District of Criminals would get slammed with the same type of storms and cold.

      • Sharpshooter says:

Gail, those goose-steppers are impervious to ANYTHING.

If such a storm occurred, they’d want a dome place over the entire Beltway…at taxpayer expense….built with union-thug labor, provided by cronyist companies.

  9. Shazaam says:

    Awwww lighten up there folks.

It’s their criminal defense fund they are soliciting donations for…..

Seems that the lot of them may have a problem with some “criminal incompetence”…..

  10. SMS says:

I don’t believe you actually have to be a scientist to join the UCS. Didn’t Anthony Watts get his dog signed up?

  11. gator69 says:

Whenever I hear of the UCS these days, this is what comes to mind…

They can retire to sunny warm Florida.

Oh wait: minus 30 degrees in Florida next week.

    • Gail Combs says:

      You had me going there.

It is 30 degrees F below the normal for the area. (That is 70 °F max and 50 °F min for Orlando) So that is ~20 to 40 °F for Florida.

      Still wicked cold.
