  1. emsnews says:

We have several feet of snow on the ground with more coming this weekend here in Upstate NY.

Next Wed. the HIGH will be zero degrees or lower!!! This is insanely cold.

  2. NielsZoo says:

Ummm, Steven. Those map dates are around 35 years ago. ???

  3. emsnews says:

1979 was a very wet year, cold too.

Like this year is becoming. The official map this year shows the Northeast US especially BOSTON as ‘drought conditions of upper soil’ which is insane. The entire region including my own place is buried under several feet of snow with another 2 feet coming, the ground is very frozen and froze when sort of dry. But it ain’t no drought, that is for certain. We will have huge spring floods when all of this melts.

    • Gail Combs says:

Nothing like the soil frozen solid and a nice warm spring storm to get those floods going.

It has been down right soggy for the last two years here in mid North Carolina. I had to treat some of my stock for white line disease because of the continuous wet conditions. Also for various fungal problems.

  4. Louis Hooffstetter says:

“Up to 10 inches of rain is expected this weekend in parts of the drought-stricken region,
but the rainfall won’t make a significant dent in California’s historic drought”:

10″ of rain never relieves a drought.

  5. emsnews says:

This is what, the fourth storm to dump several inches of rain?

What do they want? Noah’s flood? 🙂 I lived in the SF area during the heavy rain 1969-1972 era and boy, was it wet even during the ‘dry season’ which is spring.

  6. Psalmon says:

Nothing is more deceptive than the use of either 1. Year old pictures or 2. End of Summer pictures of CA reservoirs that the media is using to tell drought stories.

In just one day I have caught them using:
    – Jan 2014 pictures of Lake Almaden in CA which was empty then but last week went over capacity
    – The poster child Lake Folsom which was 17% full in 1/14 and today is above avg levels to date
    – Shasta Lake taken in Aug 30 ’14 when Shasta was 30% full, today it is 66 feet higher after 46 inches of rain (normal) and 76% of normal levels for the date

The list goes on but you get the idea…non stop smoking guns of deception.
