Blaming Skeptics For The Weather

During the 16th century, 30,000 people were burned at the stake as witches, accused of “cooking the weather.”

Progressives like Naomi Oreskes and Barack Obama have reverted to that 16th century mentality, blaming the weather on climate skeptics.

The US is currently experiencing the quietest period of tornadoes and hurricanes on record. Globally, deaths from natural disasters has plummeted over the past 80 years.

Should climate skeptics get credit for this?

Some say the world will end in fire,
    Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

    -Robert Frost

    The depopulationists win either way.

      Doug,
It was inevitable that Cyclone Pam was blamed on AGW. When will a MSM journalist ask the obvious question , if AGW is responsible for Cyclone Pam what was responsible for cyclones prior to 1970 or whatever year you want to pick ?
Of course I feel for the people of Vanuatu but the cyclone could have easily just been several hundred miles east or west and there would have been no more affect than any other large storm that appears at about this time of the year in these parts.

If Joe Bastardi is correct our tornado hiatus may be starting to end. He and the WeatherBell boys are predicting a shorter (starting later) than normal but very active tornado season this year. Based on his forecast maps it’s looking like the deep south is in for it this year.

    • Disillusioned says:

I too have been concerned that as the cooling trend continues, that tornadic activity will ramp up again. The more cold air from north meets warm air from the equator….

And the anti-science, CO2-phobic idiots will be playing the CO2-Induced Climate Change Scapegoat – playing up that false meme up for all it is worth. And then some.

  3. The skeptics must share the blame. Climate scientists say that anthropogenic global warming causes extreme weather. That includes the extreme lack of extreme weather events like tornadoes and hurricanes. The American people demand normal weather with a proper number of natural disasters.

Naomi Oreskes and Barack Obama have reverted to that 16th century mentality,

Not reverted, Tony. They always had that mentality. You don’t get to ba as big an a$$ole as these without a lot of training.

  6. darrylb says:

There is significant correlation between the worst of the little ice age and the greatest number of trials and deaths of accused witches. The Salem which trials were at there peak between 1680 and 1730 and the coldest of the little ice age was in the 1580’s and between 1680 and 1730. The peak of the witch trials in Europe was also at that time.
The witches, of course, caused the in-climate weather and the resulting crop failures.
The Medieval warm period could not last forever.
Of course, despite all the hundreds of recordings of these events, Mikey Mann could change history with a single BS study.
–and Temperature history is still being changed!
and of course just as they were put on trial, many would like to put us on trial and burn us.
    Human nature has not changed.

So Al Gore is calling for a Witch Hunt. I thought this was the USA where freedom of speech was guaranteed by the Constitution…

I wish that cartoon was just a joke….

…. Two students are suing the University of Hawaii for violating their First Amendment rights after administrator prevented them from distributing copies of the U.S. Constitution — demonstrating a frightening lack of knowledge about the very legal document they were attempting to censor.

Students Merritt Burch and Anthony Vizzone, members of the Young Americans for Liberty chapter at UH-Hilo, were prevented from handing out copies of the Constitution at a recruitment event in January. A week later, they were again informed by a censorship-minded administrator that their First Amendment-protected activities were in violation of school policy.

The students were told that they could only distribute literature from within UH-Hilo’s “free speech zone,” a small, muddy, frequently-flooded area on the edge of campus.

Administrators further clarified their level of respect for students’ free speech rights, making comments like, “This isn’t really the ’60s anymore,” and “people can’t really protest like that anymore,” according to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education….

Maybe if they burn more people that will heat things up. Because it’s NOT warming.
But the wretched fear mongering Chicken Littles want it to warm. Yeah, they are going to burn people as witches, but regardless, they want catastrophic warming because it fits their dream of mankind getting his comeuppance.
