I love the overused and misused internet term “troll”.
20 years ago, a troll was someone who used to hang around AOL and Prodigy chat rooms insulting, mocking, and picking on people. A troll would just spout non-sequiturs and spew profanity for no reason at all, and was there obviously to just cause trouble and had nothing really useful to say whatsoever.
These days, in the Age of Obama, “troll” now means anyone who inserts himself into a public conversation, and really has something relevant to say, but just doesn’t agree with the prevailing opinion of the mindless Borg-like cult that is patting themselves on the back and reassuring themselves that they’re all really swell. Scary.
Troll is still better than “Big Oil paid shill”. It’s amazing to me that NONE of the deniers is simply crazy, or whatnot. Nope, every single one of them is paid. Not a single person actually believes the denial. It’s all the sweet, sweet big oil cash what done it.
