More Spectacular Lies From The Guardian

Florida is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, as 80% of the state’s residents live or work near the coasts and hurricane damage has caused billions of dollars in damage since 2005.

Florida hasn’t been hit by  a hurricane since 2005. The longest hurricane-free period on record for the state.

    Hurricanes, the new normal.

    No Hurricanes, the new normal.

  2. emsnews says:

Indeed, that is outright a lie by the Guardian. How not unusual this is.

  3. gator69 says:

    But, but, but… the models!

These are very stealthy hurricanes, disguised as rain and wind, they literally tear millions of leaves from trees every year!

And just look at the property damage!

  4. Glacierman says:

AGW has trapped so much heat in the atmosphere that all the old folks in the northeast and midwest have to migrate to find a more suitable climate….oh wait.

    • spren says:

C’mon Glacier. Don’t you know the difference between weather and climate? This bitter and extreme cold we’ve had here in the northeast is just weather, err until they decide that contrary to what they just said a few years ago about snow being a thing of the past, they now find that it is perfectly compatible with what their models have told them. (Are those models really just the voices they hear in their heads?) We need a scorecard to figure out what is what today, and what it will be tomorrow. But the models are always correct. (At least after they tune them with their fudge factors and recast them forward!) Goodness gracious.

I hope that Hopeless’s little efforts mean that Range will decide to definitely go through with the defamation case, and include Hopeless. !!

I had the impression that Range was umm and ahhing about proceeding…….

With her latest little propaganda video, she has probably tipped those scale.

Lipsky cannot be happy that she has continued to keep this alive and attacking Range.

This could cost them BOTH one heck of lot of money !!

  6. sully says:

The Gaurdian is getting more like the national enquirer. So far out of touch with reality. The comment section is ruled by the red handbook.

  7. jeremyp99 says:

Thanks Steve – have pointed this out to them. I was brought up in a family that read the old Manchester Guardian (we lived just South of M’cr). This article would never have seen the light of day in the old Guardian, which was a fine newspaper based on the old Liberal principles. Fucked when it moved to London.

    I think I found Hope’s cousin!

Note at about the 3:35 mark, you can see Mr Sautner’s work truck in the driveway. Apparently he works or worked for Palmeri Brothers Fuel Oil Company, a direct competitor of natural gas. Hmmmm…

  9. sully says:

Yep. Same inability to process fact.

  10. Crowbar says:

Yes, a blatant lie at the end. But does anybody have a comment on the veracity of the supposed word-ban, and the claimed 2 day mental assessment?

  11. Dave N says:

My guess is that the Grindaua will claim the “..and hurricane damage..” part doesn’t refer to Florida; but I expect any reasonable person would see it as a blatant deception.

    Sounds like business as usual.

  12. inMAGICn says:

You don’t get it. There have been no hurricanes since 2005. Thus, there is damage by the lack of hurricanes which has caused billions of dollars not to go into repair and rebuilding, cleanup and recovery.
    Get gummint grant now?

  13. Andy DC says:

Billions in damages from no hurricanes.

  14. They modified the end. Now it looks like this:

“Florida is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, as 80% of the state’s residents live or work near the coasts and damage from recent storms, including hurricane Wilma, has caused billions of dollars in damage since 2005.

This article was amended on 19 March 2015. An earlier version said damage from hurricanes had caused billions of dollars in damage since 2005. “

  15. Bob123 says:

Since when have they let the facts get in the way of selling newspapers.

  16. Ernest Bush says:

Another organization that doesn’t allow truth to stand in the way of their fantasies.

  17. stewgreen says:

“Florida hasn’t been hit by a hurricane since 2005.” ..that just means the bigger the fuss the Guardian will make ..when one does eventually come ..as it surely will.

BTW you do understand that the Guardian is really a campaigning political party which happens to publish a newspaper.
(..and which has a close unhealthy relationship with the BBC which conflicts with the BBC’s impartiality rules in its charter)(aswell as parrotting the Gd in its news the BBC buys more copies of the Guardian than any other organisation)
