I agree with items 1) and 2). I understand Wikan’s item 3) and my position on the barbaric customs of primitive cultures is identical to that of General Sir Charles James Napier (as mentioned above by Andy Mirlach). Here might be the source, from June 2001. Seemingly being interviewed in response to a reported 40% increase in the number of rapes in Oslo from 1999 to 2000. The page doesn’t translate automatically on Chrome for me, but running the paragraphs through Google Translate gives a different read than the quote, and definitely not the quote, as stated. It is more along the lines that non-western men mistake the friendliness of Norwegian women, so Norwegian women need to be more aware of different cultural expectations. So she advises them against things like inviting one of them home. Get’s a little close to blaming the victim in there, but not as blatantly as has been attributed.

I have to agree–separate Islam from rape gangs and the Western non-Islamic progressive politicians who make excuses for them. The Koran doesn’t excuse rape simply because the woman was vulnerable to being raped (not protected by being locked up and guarded by an army) and slightly more than half of Muslims world-wide are female. The permission to rape is a modern political thing and most of the people excusing rape are non-Islamic politicians.

Yours is clearly a position of such erudition and nuance that I must read more than a little history to grasp its full depth. Persecution of Moslems seems to both strengthen and weaken Islam. The acceptance of Islam makes Moslems both more and less zealous, while it increases and decreases their numbers.
I must also deepen my understanding of anthropogenic global warming that seems to cause both heat waves and cold waves, rain and drought, more snow and less snow, more hurricanes or less hurricanes, etc.
We may have stumbled upon some omnipotent universal force here. I’m afraid to tell you who it may be.
Funny think Charles, see in the 1980s we thought that Levis and hair-metal would be the downfall of the Russian bear and its form of communism.
