They carefully cherry picked the time frame misinform the audience, ending the study in 2012. Since the study ended, there has been a massive increase in old/thick ice. Had they ended the study at the current time, the results would have been quite different.
The starting point of 1975 is also chosen to deceive. The CIA reported a large increase in Arctic ice during the early 1970s. Had they started a few years earlier, the results would have been quite different.
Let’s go back a little further to 1962 and compare the submarine pictures. The ice was much thinner in 1962 than 2001

Now lets go back further to 1940. The ice was two meters thick, the same as now. There has been no change in Arctic ice thickness from 75 years ago.

There was a similar period of melting from 1910-1940 as from 1975-2012. It is cyclical, not linear.

Anyone with a little bit of knowledge about the Arctic would know that over all the system is ever changing with significant changes happening frequently, sometimes over the course of a day or two. 2012 information is ancient history relative to the dynamic nature of the system.

I must be missing something here! He merely brought to our attention the stupid propaganda of others and was not supporting it but criticizing it.
BTW, a detail many seem to miss about that questionable bombings of that ancient city is that the it was carried out because at the Yalta conference Stalin asked for bombings of communications and transport centers to prevent shifting of German units to or about the Eastern Front. Judging the situation at the time it was deemed necessary to help prevent the shifting of German military assets and contrary to later claims, Dresden was a communications and transport center.
Let’s be fair here: I understand Steve was using Dresden as an example of truly-awful- things-that-happen as a contrast to the imaginary threat of CAGW, but his choice of
Dresden (as opposed to say Warsaw, Stalingrad, Leningrad, Dachau, Nazi-occupation of the Ukraine, or the whole of the war) was the result of being exposed to propaganda, (Steve did a search for “Dresden bomb”) and the newspaper picture* he used for Dresden was itself propaganda.

The propaganda is so pervasive that parts of it are accepted subconsciously by most of us even though we know we have been drenched in propaganda all our lives.
