I had an alarmist on my twitter feed. He just hated it when I asked him to show any dataset that had warmed at even the lowest warming predicted by the IPCC in 2001. Even worse when I said that science was tested by whether theories predict what happens. And it really annoyed him when I said that science is not a democracy where we vote for theories that we think should be valid.
When he finally blocked me I understood: MEDIA STUDIES!
This is the level of the climate debate these days. Only scientifically illiterate people who are clueless will even try to support the alarmist position.
The problem is, most in Congress, along with the President, Vice President, the Secretary of State, the head of the Environmental Extortion Agency, the heads at NASA GISS and NCDC, and NSIDC, the Justices on the Supreme Court… – ALL of them are scientifically illiterate. They are indeed clueless.
And that’s just the U.S. – Britain, Europe and Australia are also in trouble.
Leaders of China and Russia are looking on at the joke science has become in the West and laughing their asses off. As well as plotting and planning.

For 13 years, Rajendra Pachauri was the man in charge of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – the United Nations body responsible for assessing the state of the world’s climate.
You would expect someone entrusted with this important responsibility to be conscientious and professional. Most of all, you would expect him to be a stickler about following the rules.
But Pachauri is the public figure who never fails to disappoint. Currently facing a criminal investigation over alleged sexual misconduct at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) that he has led since the 1980s, New Delhi police are now accusing Pachauri of bail violations.
The crimes for which he is being investigated are so serious that, once a person is taken into police custody, bail is not an option. Last month, Pachauri’s aggressive legal team secured what is known as “anticipatory” or “interim” bail on his behalf – a measure that temporarily prevents his arrest.
One of his bail conditions is that he not have contact with anyone at TERI. Another requires him to cooperate with the police.
But police recently told a judge that Pachauri has been “influencing witnesses” and “hampering investigations.” According to the Economic Times, police say Pachauri is
“creating documents” for his defence and [is] still in touch with Teri officials who “at the behest of Pachauri are not co-operating” with the police.
A hot-off-the-press article in India’s Business Standard reports that a prosecutor told the court that, when police interviewed one of Pachauri’s assistants, they discovered the assistant had visited Pachauri earlier and conferred with him about what to say. According to the prosecutor,
IT experts are not being allowed to enter TERI offices and even if allowed inside, no cooperation is extended to them and they are deliberately being made to wait.
Accused by a 29-year-old TERI employee of sexual assault, harassment, and stalking, Pachauri has denied all allegations against him. He says he is the victim of a conspiracy involving “unknown cyber criminals” who are trying to harm him due to his climate activities.
Police have reportedly told the court there is no evidence to support Pachauri’s claims that he was hacked. In this regard, the HuffingtonPost story reports that his lawyers subsequently
told the court that his email had not been hacked, but that he had shared the password with several people, who could have sent inappropriate emails to the complainant on his behalf.
Last month, an Australian newspaper reported that, when Pachauri handed over his mobile phone to the police, “memory cards were missing.

Actually, I am ashamed of her as a scientist. As a self proclaimed Christian, and as a scientist, she should be examining everything she proclaims on a regular basis. –That means looking at all information on a regular basis.
Steve, you are right. That graph goes beyond wrong all the way to ridiculously stupid. It would not be worth commenting on except the church of environmentalism is trying to convert everyone to its congregation without regard to their welfare.
Everyday, I understand to a greater degree how the human race could actually try and burn tens of thousands of those who were accused of witchcraft. (Of course they knew they were witches if they had a birthmark or were widows or, oh well) Ignorance is the cornerstone of witchcraft beliefs, significant AGW, and so much more.
On another note, the previous thread is about a reply from Marco Rubio.
IMO he would be a terrific candidate for the presidency. He is brilliant, articulate, visionary, and would actually have the citizenry of the U.S. as his concern, more than himself.
—And while I am at it, I would like to see Dr. Ben Carson as his running mate. Just sayin’.

I’ve always been astonished by what people who call themselves scientists can get away with. The graph you show is the famous hockey stick; where Michael Mann grafted a chart of tree ring widths to a chart of temperature. You can’t do that. Hayhoe takes this very bogus chart and piles crap on top of more crap.
I guess the addition to the graph is the various CMIP5 RCP’s and given their performance so far we certainly can’t “expect” anything of the sort.
You folks that Love Carson should not be disappointed when he isn’t on the ticket because it ain’t gonna happen.

Carson has some real Second Amendment issues, otherwise I think he is great. But not recognizing the right to bear arms, IMHO, disqualifies one for higher public office.
