In 1989, NOAAs Tom Karl said that most 1881 to 1989 warming occurred before 1919. NOAA now shows cooling during the period 1881 to 1919, and that all of the warming occurred after 1919. The exact opposite of what Karl said in 1989.

So were they incompetent then, or lying then, or are they incompetent now or lying now. Maybe it is two or more of those. The fact that reporting of historical data keeps changing, is proof to me that what we are being fed is not real. If there is some adjustment like TOBS needed, you would expect a change when that adjustment is applied, but to have stability in the historical data after that change had been applied. But this year after year after year with with hardly ever the same historical data twice just stinks.

Is that Karl the same one who just published the absurd ocean temperature results by placing thermometers near the engine exhausts of ships instead of using temps from all the other excellent devices floating in the oceans?

No. That Karl has been adjusted, due to assumed errors in his measurement. Today’s Karl bears little resemblance to previous Karls. But we can assure you that we finally have the correct Karl, and all policy decisions should be made based on this version. Until we discover new presumptive errors in Karl, of course, and adjust him again.
26 years ago, global warming crackpots were already saying we were doomed! Now 26 years later, there are no signs of doom whatsoever. Few hurricanes, fewer tornadoes, fewer extreme heat waves, bumper crops, no sign of significant sea level rise, worldwide sea ice close to normal.
Yet same crackpots are still claiming we are doomed! They sound more like a hysterical end of the world cult than anything resembling scientists.
