I took this Kestrel shot in the morning.
The second shot was in the evening, about a mile away. We are getting to know each other’s habits pretty well by now!
This Kestrel is a female (versus male photos earlier). So you are probably seeing more of them than you think. They are quite common and the habitat you are walking in looks pretty prime for them so that would be expected at this time of year.
Or maybe some government agency adjusted its wing colour just to jerk you around?
