The day Dick Cheney is going to run for president, I’ll kill myself. All we need is one more liar.
-Helen Thomas
I never knew she committed suicide,
To look at her one would think she’s been dead for years. The old hag certainly was dead to me even before the first Bush was elected.
She died in 2013.

Helen knows as much about ancient history as Chris. The Jews have been ‘home’ for 5000 years now.
It’s just Obama trying to retain his title as the worlds #1 Firearms salesman.
No DGP, it is just the ‘Chicago Way’.
Since Chicago published part 1 of this special report [ http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/May-2014/Chicago-crime-rates/ ], many current and former police officers have contacted us to share “washing machine”-like stories. Crime victims, too, have come forward to describe Kafkaesque dealings with police. And two aldermen—Scott Waguespack, from the North Side’s 32nd Ward, and Willie Cochran, from the South Side’s 20th Ward—have introduced resolutions in the City Council calling for hearings on the reliability of the department’s crime counting and reporting practices. At presstime, more than a third of Chicago’s 50 aldermen had signed.
“The allegations [in part 1 of the special report] are false, and built on information that is factually incorrect, misleading, and unsubstantiated,” police department spokesperson Adam Collins said in a statement. (See “On Accuracy” for more on this.) “We take the tracking, compiling, and reporting of crime data extremely seriously … and [it] is shared with the public to provide an accurate understanding of crime conditions.” (While Superintendent McCarthy did not agree to an interview, Collins sent McCarthy’s answers to a few of our questions via e-mail on May 2, just before presstime for this article. Mayor Emanuel did not respond to repeated requests for comment.)
A 1926 Chicago Daily Tribune investigation revealed that the police department was “covering up on the real crime situation” by “doctoring the books.”
By 1958, the Chicago Crime Commission was accusing police of “minimizing” the city’s crime numbers. Timothy Sheehan, a former Republican congressman who ran for mayor in 1959 against Richard J. Daley, described the numbers as a “farce”: “What man with brains can believe [them]?”
In 1982, Channel 2 investigative reporter Pam Zekman unearthed evidence that the department had been “killing crime” for years by dismissing legitimate crime reports as unfounded.
And for a long time too.
But New York’s CompStat program was dogged by talk that its numbers weren’t all that they seemed. In May 2010—four years after McCarthy [current Chicago Police Chief ] left the NYPD to become the top cop in Newark, New Jersey—The Village Voice published excerpts of transcripts from hundreds of audio recordings of station house roll calls from 2008 and 2009 made by an officer in the 81st Precinct, in Brooklyn’s tough Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. NYPD bosses were caught on tape pressuring street cops to downgrade crimes and discourage victims from reporting offenses, among other things, to bolster the precinct’s stats. An outside report ordered by former police commissioner Raymond Kelly would confirm that manipulation went well beyond one precinct and “may have an appreciable effect on certain reported crime rates.”
Why am I not surprised?

Came across the following story ….
http://uncovercalifornia.com/content/23756-supertide-turns-ancient-mont-saint-michel-island
If there really were sea-level rise, then one might expect the above event to be getting more common, and not just once every 18 years.
We used to stay in a hotel on Mont Saint-Michel, whenever we could. The room we always booked opened onto the city ramparts, and when the tide was rushing in or out, you felt you were on a fast moving ship. The tides were an important part of its defense, as ships could not linger, and armies would drown.
In my time there it made a wonderful base camp for visits to the beaches of Normandy. Back then, because we had US plates on our Mercedes, the villagers would rip flowers from their window boxes and throw them on our car as we passed. Some of my best memories ever.
I loved the time I spent in Europe. The museums!!!! The caves!!!! the skiing and hiking…
I could never understand the Army wives who never wanted to leave base. We were 100 miles from PARIS for goodness sakes.
We lived in Chateauroux France, and later in Stuttgart Germany. The skiing, the castles and palaces, the food, the culture (which is now disappearing), the history, and the Alps which inspired me to study geology and ice ages for the rest of my life.
We traveled almost every weekend, even if it was just a local Volksmarch or bierfest.
But oh my God, the skiing! The Rockies are nice, but just do not compare with the Alps.
we were near Idar-Oberstein, known as gemstone town. You could pick up amethyst walking down the street. Some of the gem shops had amethyst geodes big enough you could stand in them.
My first time skiing was in New York. The second time was a week in Aspen and the third time was the Zugspitze.
Hotair just posted a story: Are we ready for an attack on the power grid? http://hotair.com/archives/2015/03/25/are-we-ready-for-an-attack-on-the-power-grid/
My comment:
An attack on the power grid? That’s what Obama and his “climate change” cronies are already doing.

Can we still stop global warming? Only if we radically change our capitalist system, argues author Naomi Klein. In an interview with SPIEGEL, she explains why the time has come to abandon small steps for a radical new approach.

Is Capitalism the Problem?
Following the Copenhagen fiasco, the executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Yvo de Boer of the Netherlands, resigned in frustration. He had, he said in a 2013 interview with Bloomberg Business, lost his faith in climate diplomacy. “The only way that a 2015 agreement can achieve a 2-degree goal is to shut down the whole global economy,” he said.

Completely off subject.
Lately there has been spin on G.W. causing a slowdown in Atlantic circulation with
the usual grave consequences.
J. Curry at Climate etc. completely debunks it.
Just mentioning this in case you hear of it.
—Also mentioned in Curry Thread,
At high latitudes of Atlantic there are signs of natural variability, predominately
associated with the Atlantic Multidecadal oscillation. There is recovery of sea ice
in the Atlantic sector and hints of cooling in Greenland.
Seems like observations of ice recovery and cooling have been mentioned here
like many a dozen times.
Rahmstorf/Mann? You noticed, too. They are hurting. Couldn’t happen to a nicer duo.
Saw it on Notrickszone and WUWT. Just looking at Curry’s.

There already was a harvard study in 2007 by Kates&Mauser(both criminologist) that proves that banning guns will not help decreasing violence and is counterproductive.
If course this study was buried and our modern friendly smiling nazis(progressives)
ignore those facts just like all religious looneys ignore everything that does not fit their agenda.
Guns have been banned in Sovietunion by communists=50mio+ people killed by own goverment.
Guns banned in communist china=60+ mio people killed by their government
guns banned by socialist and nationalist Hitler=results are very well known.
In Russia where guns are still banned the murder rate is much higher than in USA
Nearly all politicians lie to get or to stay in ‘power’.
Politicians lying is nothing new.
The FBI and other institutions jumping on the bandwagon per the wishes of the leader, is like a third world government.
When the WH had their propaganda arm where you could turn in your neighbor for telling “myths” about Obamacare, at least that was clearly at the WH. (By they way, their “proof” that people could keep their plans, was a video of the Pres. saying that. Apparently just speaking the words makes it true.)
The FBI is using uncorrected numbers from news reports rather than the actual numbers, to come up with statistics. The Dept. of Health and Human services uses Gallup poll numbers rather than actual data to make claims about how many people have gained insurance due to Obamacare.
The “scientific” agencies put out whatever data matches the agenda as well. Though to be fair, those agencies went of their own accord, likely due to who who has been put in charge over the years.
The report in question is titled A Study of Active Shooter Incidents in the United States Between 2000 and 2013.
Did anyone even bother to read the introduction to that report? To wit (page 5):
Just because the media took a study that explicitly stated “This is not a study of mass killings or mass shootings“, and pitched it as a report that studied mass shootings, does not mean that FBI lied.
Right, they also say “The study does not encompass all mass killings or shootings in public places and therefore is limited in its scope.” Meaning of course, they knew they were missing certain incidents.
IN SPITE of that, they specifically draw TREND LINES on the graphs of the number of incidents, and the number of casualties.
What type of incidents were those graphs showing?
Active shooter incidents, not mass shooting/killing incidents. So, you can call into question their methodology with respect to active shooter incidents – but even then, you still can’t say that the report or its graphs has anything at all to do with mass shootings/killings, or that FBI claimed as much.
I can’t seem to reply as it has not been posted twice with different content. So I’ll just reference 3 incidents from 2000 that were not included, and paraphrase content from articles. These should have been included by their criteria, but weren’t. Maybe linking to certain other websites or something is a problem, or direct quoting. No idea why it was blocked. So here are some incidents. They most definitely would be active shooter incidents if they happened today due to the hours the incidents lasted, and in two cases, the multiple locations.
Aug 2000, U of Arkansas
James Easton Kelly killed a professor and then committed suicide. The shooting was called in, police showed up, talked to someone behind the door where the shooting happened, then there was another shot. Then about an hour after the first police showed up, a SWAT team broke down the door.
April 2000, around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Richard Baumhammers killed 5 people and wounded 1 over several hours in different locations. Starting with his neighbor, then a grocery store, Chinese restaurant, then Karate school.
March 2000
Ronald Taylor killed 2 and wounded 3 people over several hours. First at his apartment, then a couple fast food places.
Forgive my obtuseness: I don’t understand what your point is.
I was pointing out that, contrary to the original post, the FBI never claimed that the report studied mass shootings/killings – and to the contrary, explicitly stated that it was not such a study. I am not commenting on the methodology or accuracy of the report itself.
Ok, fair enough. However, they only put 5 graphics in there, two with trend lines that say something entirely incorrect, since they do not even follow their own guidelines for including incidents. Those diagrams are the lazy man’s way to go through a report, and particularly since journalists are not very smart, they just look at graphs like that and turn it into made up stories.
So you say it is the journalist’s fault, and I say those putting out faulty statistics, with trend lines, are not innocent.

After all, what good did that do me?… Before I go any further, if you look under your chairs, you’ll find a simple non-disclosure agreement. My attorneys drew it up… Old habits last.”
-Hillary Rotten Clinton
Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.
Why?
“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”
