Hilary Ostrov of “The View from Here” has good insight into the problems that plague science and society today:

The United Nations was formed on 24 Oct 1945 for commendable goals – to reduce nationalism and the possibility of nuclear annihilation.
However, nuclear and solar sciences were altered in 1945-46 in ways that undercut the validity of post-WWII sciences: Textbooks replaced
1. Aston’s valid “nuclear packing fraction” with Weizsacker’s invalid “nuclear binding energy.”
2. Valid models of the iron-rich Sun with invalid models of hydrogen-filled stars.

And deprived humans of the greatest benefit of the scientific revolution:
“Powers beyond the dreams of scientific fiction.” [See the last paragraph of Lord Francis William Aston’s Nobel Lecture on 12 Dec 1922]:

I believe that in computer studies they discuss this phenomenon – GIGO !
You’re going to “break” the NY Times archive, Steve, as some Reddit dweeb gatekeeper asserts himself in their corporate ladder…or after Google buys them out. Greed may indeed win the day though, as skepticism merges with classicism, in red, white and blue America as Skynet descends on Islam with the official motto, “frack you, freaks!”
What? Lol. Listen Nik, I really liked your comments over at phys.org, and as skeptics we all should sign up at phys org and join the fight, but I heard that you have been banned from phys org! Tell me it’s not so. I remember thinking that with the fat Mann himself calling attention to your comments at phys org, Mann probably put his word into the warmist editors to ban you, so phys org was probably looking for an excuse to ban you, and also though when you would once in a blue moon seem to get carried away doing things like repeating the same sentence 20 times or other crazy antics I thought it might give phys org the pretext it wanted to ban you where they could insist it wasn’t based on censorship but because of antics. But without question it was because of censorship. You know I am in your corner, but I now wish I had tried to warn you about the advisability of some of the antics. Well, there are other fish in the sea.
