Wolverines!

In the 1984 movie “Red Dawn” – communists invaded Colorado, and the first thing they did was disarm the citizenry. Then a gang of patriots “the Wolverines” fought back against the communists – and ran them out.

State Sen. Evie Hudak resigned her seat Wednesday, ending a recall effort being waged against her days before gun-rights activists were to turn in petitions to try to oust the Democrat from office.

Those were real communists in the movie. They at least had some toughness about them, unlike the weak kneed, sniveling, cowardly druggies we now have in Colorado.

The Battle of Athens (sometimes called the McMinn County War) was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, United States, against the local government in August 1946. The citizens, including some World War II veterans, accused the local officials of political corruption and voter intimidation. The event is sometimes cited by firearms ownership advocates as an example of the value of the Second Amendment in combating tyranny.[1

So, Evie Hudak has metaphorically fallen on her sword. No doubt she will be rewarded by some plum of a job elsewhere. In the meantime, the laws she helped pass are still in effect, are they not?

    • She quit, so that Dems could appoint her successor and avoid losing control of the senate. Dems always working to thwart the will of the people.

      • Tom says:

As always right on! I remember reading this about the Dems “When the Democrats have a plan it’s very similar to the French. They and the French always, but always, act in their own self-interest. And has nothing to do with what’s good for the US.”

Recall elections are a win/win strategy. Potentially, you remove them, but even if you fail, you have forced them to expend resources and moderate their votes.

    • NavarreAggie says:

I’m just not convinced they ever moderate their votes, even in the event that they survive a recall election.

      • Okie says:

Only during the course of the election. You are right, they learn nothing from the experience. But they will pose with their Bibles while the election is on.

Shock News: NSA protects American politicians by wiretapping 300 million Americans!! DC issues a sigh of relief that their corruption will be kept secret now.

“National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander said Wednesday that “there isn’t a better way” to help defend the country from potential terror threats than the ongoing and controversial bulk collection of telephone records involving millions of Americans.”

Thanks, Steven. You are on track.

    1. Shared truths among equals were once the foundation of science and spirituality.

    E.g., Einstein’s E = mc^2 and Aston’s “nuclear packing fraction,” f = M/A -1

In the last paragraph of his 1922 Nobel Lecture, Aston spoke of a “power beyond the dreams of scientific fiction” and accurately described the basis for the atomic and hydrogen bombs.

    2. Shared dogmas in a stratified structure became the foundation of religion and consensus science after the above discoveries were used to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians in 1945.

Then science textbooks replaced Aston’s rigorously valid “nuclear packing fraction” with Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker’s deceptively convincing “nuclear binding energy (B.E.)” to obscure energy from neutron-repulsion, the powerful source of energy in cores of heavy atoms (uranium), some planets (Jupiter), ordinary stars (Sun) and galaxies (Milky Way).

    C. F. von Weizsäcker’s older brother was West Germany’s President Richard von Weizsäcker (1984 – 1994), when the Berlin Wall came down and President Ronald Reagan announced that the “Evil Empire” is dead.
