Debate Takers So Far : Zero

I put out a general offer to debate about a week ago, and so far no takers.

My critics prefer to create a fact-free straw man image of me (stupid birther on the Koch payroll) and then bravely attack the straw man from afar.

Politifact and MediaMatters refuse to print a single word I actually wrote, and never contact me to rebut the idiotic claims they publish about my work. Polifact and Media Matters are complete frauds – pushing a political agenda with no interest in actual facts.

It is BIG business on both sides. What would it mean for them if there was nothing wrong with the climate.

  2. Latitude says:

“Steve has never contacted NCDC about their “tampering”……

But this person had time to pen this….and you’re in hiding, right?…..
….NCDC has never contacted Steve about their tampering

  3. Morgan says:

I would like to debate with you whether Lake Ontario froze last winter

    • darrylb says:

Not sure of what your getting at—but Lake Superior has had a record water level rise and a late season record for remaining ice.

      • Morgan says:

That’s only because of all the land snow that slid into the lake and froze. And don’t forget the Northwest Passage from Rochester to Toronto cause by CO2

  4. Joseph says:

The alarmists try to dismiss your work by calling you a birther, accuse you of being on the Koch brother/big oil payroll, and refuse to debate you on the settled science? That doesn’t sound like an alarmist at all…

  5. It the data contradicts the cause it will be distorted to conform. If the opponent contradicts the distorted data his views will be distorted to be beaten. Climate Science 101.

  6. DEEBEE says:

They day these jokers can criticize you, with their critical conclusion followed by a rationale or vice versa; they become worthy of paying attention to. Otherwise it is just a rabid rant. And if a person reading it cannot make that distinction, there is no hope for him/her

  7. Sean Cash says:

Steve; please let me know how to get on the koch payroll .. i can always use an extra source of income …

    🙂

  8. Shazaam says:

And none of the high priests (and priestesses) of CAGW will ever debate in a venue where they cannot censor and control the dialog.

If they cannot “moderate” or delete posts they do not agree with, then they will find another venue and approach for their attack.

  9. Chewer says:

Since the tax payer money keeps pouring in for the “Working Hypothesis” MSM backed AGW cause, open debate would be fatal. There’s no reason to have a perfectly orchestrated illusion destroyed when the steaks are so high and tasty 😉
The AGW deceivers are despicable beyond belief, but they’re smart enough to know which side butters their bread.

  10. A C Osborn says:

Brandon Shollenberger is a typical warmist, he writes a critique supposedly explaining what the arguement is about at Climate Etc.
He shows some points, makes up some data declares Steve’s method wrong based on the made up numbers and hence there is no problem with the data.
I challenged him to look at the data and still say that there is nothing wrong with it and of course he point blank refuses.

Steve Mosher who pushes BEST as the best temperature set is shown data that proves their “Estimated” final values are crap and has to agree that it can’t handle data for irelands or coasts versus inland.
He also admits they do NOT REFLECT REALITY, he say’s “if you want REAL TEMPERATURES USE THE RAW DATA, if you want to know what WE THINK THE TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE BASED ON COMPUTER MODELS USE BEST “EXPECTED” DATA.

These guys are absolutley full of bullshit.

    • bit chilly says:

the big problem is brandon and mosher are too clever at times.we already know what has been done is technically correct in their eyes,no argument.
they are too focussed on this one point .they are missing the main point altogether. the infilling is inexcusable ,there can be no argument used to support it in the current guise.
maybe mosher has gotten over the initial indignance that a mere blogger has found serious flaws in his departments work and is now taking the time to examine the issues sg has highlighted, namely infilling occurs using data sets from urban stations to replace that of rural and higher elevation stations.this one issue is at the crux of the matter, and should be enough to force them to start from scratch.

      • RossP says:

        bit chilly
I agree , on that issue, but I think the key and simpler issue to push ( to the public ) that SG has raised, is how the NASA data has been changed years later just to make it look like it is warming now. The animated graph he posted yesterday is so simple even the “drunk at the bar’ could understand it.

My comment at hotair on this:

Btw, about a week ago Steven Goddard uncovered solid evidence that the temperature record has been systematically manipulated by the agenda driven Chicken Little Brigade. Drudge headlined Goddards’ findings. The main point: the 1930s was hotter than today! With that, the whole global warming thesis is a farce, a joke.

Some have contended that there is something wrong with Goddard’s methodology, but Goddard is just looking at the unaltered raw data to reach these conclusions. Also, Goddard concentrated on the US temperature record, and some have rightly said that the US is not the world. But the thing is that the US record is the most complete and reliable, and the spotty global record is very easily manipulated by the doomers, so indeed we should give greater weight to the US record. And finally, a week ago Steven Goddard put out a call for a full debate with any of his warmist critics, and guess what, they are running from that challenge of debate: http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2014/07/03/debate-takers-so-far-zero/

Meanwhile genocidal policies in Kenya via “carbon credits”

“One example of the harm caused by the project was that it changed the border of the Cherangany forest reserves,” according to the FPP brief, “such that Sengwer families, without any consultation or notice, found themselves on the inside of the forest reserve and therefore automatically subject to eviction by the KFS, evictions effectively funded by the World Bank. These evictions were customarily executed by burning homes and food stores in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013….As “carbon credit financier and broker”, the World Bank is “aiding and abetting the forced relocation of an entire Indigenous People through its Natural Resource Management Plan (NRMP) which includes REDD (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation), in the Cherangany Hills”, said the letter.”

  14. markstoval says:

Steve, there is a new post by AW that you should see. In it he admits to being ready to convict (in his own mind) a fellow skeptic without completely checking out the evidence. He did, to his credit, investigate the issue and fond out that Lord Monckton was innocent of the “crime” but I think the lack of presuming innocence is telling. You of all people should see what I mean.

I made a comment over there but it is lost in moderation. (yet again)

  15. Kent Clizbe says:

    Off topic:

Virginia’s new governor, who recently named Michael Mann as an environmental advisor, and to whom Mann donated campaign funds, has just “reinstated the state climate change panel.”

“McAuliffe said Tuesday he’s restoring the climate panel, dormant for the past four years, to deal with the “growing threat” of climate change to the state’s coastal communities, among the most threatened in the U.S.”

“Climate scientists have long warned that rising seas pose a serious threat to the Virginia coast, in part because land is sinking around the Chesapeake Bay from the meteor that gouged out the estuary eons ago. But they’ve complained their warnings have not been heeded.”

Send a Tweet to Bill Nye. He is a regular on MSNBC and CNN debating skeptics. To my knowledge he has never debated someone who has a brain between their ears, only news babes..

CLIMATE SCIENCE IS A MATURE SCIENCE!

When I was in high school, I noticed that every Sociology Textbook I had ever seen started with the same short sentence: “Sociology is a Science”. I thought that was odd.

I was reading today a post from our friend in Bonn, wherein he informs me that Climate Science is a MATURE SCIENCE.

I suppose that when you have a MATURE science, questioning or debate is unnecessary.

And there is most certainly never anything to gain by a rational discussion with anyone who holds a different opinion. (Or disclose your data to someone who wants to find something wrong with your work.)
