People like Barack Obama depend on creating chaos, fear and panic. Their power and revenue stream is completely dependent on it. Turn off your TV and don’t support the Hollywood fear/violence machine. I haven’t had a television for over 20 years.
This is what I enjoyed of God’s creation this morning. Bottom picture was my delicious breakfast.
Reblogged this on Gunny.G: BLOGGING.BAD ~ ORWELL '84+.
Amen!
Given the invasion of deer in the county I was hoping what was shown in the top picture is what you had for breakfast! But I agree 100% with your sentiment.. Few things are nicer than a nice 60 degree clear summer morning in Maryland!
Are you in Howard County?
Venison and a blackberry compote should be a really great breakfast. Before the police show up to confiscate your gun, that is.
No need to shoot the poor thing… Just get a rope! 🙂

Oh thank God. For a second there I thought you ate those cute puppies for breakfast.
I am and have been for 12 years. Great quality of life. I thought it was nice 12 years ago but it must be much better now since my property tax has doubled, my sales tax has increased 50% and my income tax continues to rise! I hope to enjoy it all as long as I can afford it.
We should get together for a pint sometime.
That would be nice. Next time you announce yourself out on the town I’ll stop by. The World Cup final at Union Jack’s didn’t fit my schedule.
Speaking of God’s creation — Have you had a chance to get up to Mount St Mary’s yet Tony? Beautiful gardens, etc up there…
Amen. I haven’t had tv/cable in years and life is far better without it. No matter what you watch, there is a steady stream of propaganda. If you have kids, doing with the commercials is a huge side benefit.

My church challenges the teenagers to do a media fast from time to time. It is amazing to see the positive behaviors that emerge from some of them. They include a more positive outlook on life, less rebellion, better eating and exercising, and a closer bond to their families and friends.
When my stress levels got out of control a couple of years ago, I began staying off the news channels. Most of the time I go days without seeing any Fox News or CNN. I prefer to use a few internet sites to keep up. The result is a lowered blood pressure (really!) and no nervous eating of junk food. I lost 60 pounds in the last year. I can ride miles on my exercycle at age 70 while reading various sites on my iPad. My mind has sharpened up, since exercise is brain food at my age. My wife and I have taken camping and hiking back up after a 15-year hiatus. Simple change. Big rewards. Not giving up the internet, tho.
Isn’t it odd that the MSM hasn’t discovered this amazing story…

Gator, you’re always a well-informed hoot! Lord bless you, brother!
Ernest, here’s a terrific news site for those who’ve turned their TVs off:

May you and your lovely wife enjoy all that God has given us in the outdoors until you’re both 190 years old! Big rewards! Lord bless you both.
Me three – well, almost. I do have a TV but only use it for downloaded films/series and watching stuff on YouTube e.g. anything I can find on Feynman, Gustav Mahler concerts, Milton Friedman – all that boring stuff you won’t see broadcast because it can’t compete with such exciting shows as Big Brother and… It’s been too long, I can’t name anything else. (Although I do plug the aerial in every four years for the World Cup.)
Neither do I read any newspapers, for exactly the same reason.
Getting to be a challenge finding newsprint to paper the bottom of the Green Cheek Conure’s cage these days. Haven’t gotten the big daily paper in a decade, the local little town paper used to distribute once a week for free, but now I depend on weekly ads printed on newsprint to give the ‘bird’ something to read …
Yeah, I sit in my lounge room and watch YouTube on my TV as well.
Very occasionally I watch broadcast TV, but 95% of the broadcast is complete crap, the remaining 5% is at inconvenient times. I have a time shift recorder, which gets used every so often.
Married atop Sugarloaf 15 Feb ’75 in a snow storm (or dusting).
Got rid of my TeeVee several years ago. Seldom watched anything but sports. Like the computer better. I use an antenna if I watch at all. Like my radio though.
“Turn off your TV”
I stopped watching news from TV something like 10 years ago, after I read of a study about how getting news from TV distorts people’s world view.
The problem is the subconscious, which you cannot really do anything about. If you see live video about an accident, with people dead and others crying, your subconscious reacts to it like it happened next door. Like the study found out, this caused people who watch TV to greatly overestimate their own chances to suffer a similar accident.
When you read about the same accident, your subconscious doesn’t overreact and you will be more realistic about the odds of the same happening to you.
“New York” – If you catch the news in the evening you’re actually looking at the world through New York colored glasses!
And this is after being filtered through how many editors and ‘script’ writers before being ‘colored’ by the on-set news reader …
…And now a message from our sponsors…
Hey hannuko! Yes, I think you are exactly right! There is some part of our mind which does not differentiate well between video images and personal experience. We humans have been lying to each other long enough that we have a sort of built-in scepticism to what we hear about, but we are only a couple generations into the experiment of watching moving visual images of things that happened (maybe) far away.
I trashed my TV about twenty years ago. Best mental health action I have ever done.
50 years ago there were no deer in southern MN, only in the south, now I have to excuse myself if I get in their way. Well, not quite. But I did plant some apple trees with the idea of fencing them in the next day. Foolish me! I could have gotten to pet them had they nor already gorged themselves..
You ate dogs for breakfast??!! I thought you were trying to distance yourself from Barack Obama. Oh, wait — there’s a third picture. Never mind.
Dang. Beat me to it. But the berries are a superior breakfast, as one who knows says dog is ‘tough’.
In my experience only people who love me are interested in my soul. The rest seem only interested in my wallet. POTUS doesn’t want my soul only my money.
Take down the bird feeder. Listen to the end…

… or EBT cards?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Benefit_Transfer
– – – – –
Electronic Benefit Transfer, or Exotic Butt Touching [their term] (EBT) is an electronic system that allows state welfare departments to issue benefits via a magnetically encoded payment card, used in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Common benefits provided (in the United States) via EBT are typically of two general categories: food and cash benefits.
Food benefits are federally authorized benefits that can be used only to purchase food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Food benefits are distributed through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly the Food Stamp Program.
Cash benefits include state general assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits and refugee benefits.

Mike – Your video reminds me of a guy I was watching back in 2007 who went by the “The Guy From Boston”. Funny stuff.
