No Correction From NSIDC’s Propaganda Coup

NSIDC rushed a bogus press release out claiming a record low Arctic maximum – which the press amplified with their usual lies.

The press in turn did their usual trick, and made the story into a big propaganda lie – saying the ice was “shrinking” at -30C.

The ice is surging past 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2011. The propaganda is out, and will not ever be corrected. Standard practice.

  1. Even in this day and age people can’t measure snow so NOAA has to come in and save the day for NY and adjust the measured snow record.

It has been further replicated! Here’s an example, followed by my partial reply to it:

    http://www.vox.com/2015/3/19/8258799/arctic-sea-ice-record

“…counting on the silly link … for climate understanding is fraught with peril.

The main graphic shown is correct as it stands, but the description is false. The sentence ” But this year, the winter maximum appears to be the lowest on record:” is simply not true, and extrapolating it to figure out the September minimum is nonsensical. For example, 2011 (which the graphic does NOT show) also had a “record” low maximum (equalling this year) in February, but ended up being the fourth lowest September minimum. 2007 actually exceeded (i.e. was lower than) this year’s winter max, and ended up in second place in September. Conversely, 2012 was the highest winter ice coverage of this century, and ends up holding the current record for September ice minimum (for lots of other reasons!).

The article correctly mentions Walter Meier’s caution – and then totally disregards it!!! Unbelievable, if I didn’t see it in print!!!

There are many reasons for the winter minimum this year – chiefly amongst them is the fact that the Bearing Strait and eastern sub-arctic Siberia had the most ice loss, and this is in the absolutely least important area vis-a-vis climate impact….

Other parts of the article are completely correct – its not all worthless! But unfortunately there are more parts that border upon the unbelievably stupid. For example no scientist (that I know) would ever say that “When those dark particles settle onto snow and ice, they absorb sunlight and start sizzling.” “Sizzling?” Next they’ll tell you to fry eggs on the ice!!!…”

When they get more and more ridiculous, more and more people will begin seeing through this stuff!!!

  3. gofer says:

You mean there is only 5.61 million sq. miles in the lowest maximum? What to do? But what does it matter when “ice-free” is 1 million sq miles?

  4. D. Self says:

This is typical progressive move. Release lies or misinformation then when the truth comes out ignore the truth. The damage is done and there is no way to hold them liable. Ferguson Mo. is a prime example of their BS.

  5. emsnews says:

They still believe the ‘hands up/don’t shoot’ lies from Ferguson and still persecute the cop who defended himself.
