Inquisition Update : Cause Without Effect

The Washington Post has joined in the White House led inquisition of Dr. Willie Soon, declaring that not only he is evil for accepting funding, but he is wrong. This is based on the analysis of fraudsters Kook and Nutter

They are partially correct. There hasn’t been any global warming over the past 18 years, so the Sun can not be blamed for something which isn’t occurring.

Curry just got her papers in addition to Roger Jr. too. Who is this Raul M.Grijalva anyhow? Perhaps we need to look a bit into his background? Pandora’s box is opening in climate science.

History will judge this Inquisition as it did the last one: The last futile act of fools.

    • omanuel says:

They are desperate now and may try anything to preserve their delusion of control:

      Close the internet
      Arrest AGW skeptics
      Incite religious violence
      Etc., etc.

It doesn’t matter. Big Brother is going down.

      What’s New!
Listen to Rep. Grijalva’s interview with Ed Schultz on Republican stall tactics targeting executive action on immigration reform.

      “Direct Questions to Vic Edgerton”??
Nearly two weeks after Rep. Keith Ellison announced a new district director, the 5th District congressman has named his new legislative director.
Vic Edgerton, who was Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s chief of staff for the past three years, will join Ellison’s office April 24, his office announced Tuesday. He replaces Jamie Long, who will be moving to Minnesota to become district director at the end of the month.

Ed Schultz – Dennis Kucinich – liberal loons and their staff

Thanks for the information. The President of Georgia Tech must be under immense political pressure.

But, “cat is out of the bag” now. There is no way to return to the delusion of academic freedom.

  3. rah says:

Just the application of Saul Alinsky’s 12 Rules for Radicals. Same ole, same ole.

  4. gator69 says:

And just like the Inquisitions of old, the state is using religion to gain power.

  5. gator69 says:

The useful idiots are all fired up! I’m currently mocking ‘Mike’ at another site. ‘Mike’ actually claimed that Dr Soon is not a scientist!

These a55holes will say anything to try and keep this scam alive.

The other tactic I saw today was to down grade him from an Astro-Physicist to an Astronomer.

If it would not include the rest of us I would say, Fine you want a North Korean Utopia then go for it. Unfortunately they will take me and all the rest of us down into the sewer with them.

  6. Gail Combs says:

I think that the Democrats have really over played their hand in this.

It is one thing to have your attack dogs and the jackals of the press savage someone. It is an entirely different matter to have a coordinated attack by the press, by the President’s pet NGO and by members of Congress all within days.

Anyone who had any doubts that the president set the IRS on conservatives, just got confirmation that Obama and his group play DIRTY Chicago style gangster politics complete with voter fraud.

Any moderate should be completely disgusted!

    • rah says:

My definition of “a moderate” is someone with few principles or convictions which will go with the flow. That believes compromise is good for the sake of compromise, no matter what the result.

Besides the term is totally misleading and self serving. What are those on the opposite sides? The term moderate implies all others are immoderate does it not. Or IOW RADICALS!

      • gator69 says:

Nazi Germany was full of moderates in 1939.

        • Gail Combs says:

Actually as far as I can tell most people are asleep, assuming that their government is benign and getting on with the business of living. That is finding work, shelter, and a mate.

Few pay much attention to politics until it is shove into their face. The switch from a Yawn to avid interest in the Federal Reserve was quite interesting to watch in real time back in 2007 to 2009.

        • gator69 says:

Moderates are moderate because they are asleep, or not really moderates. (See “Islam”)

      • Gail Combs says:

Perhaps I should have used the term independents, although that doesn’t capture the ones who are sort of Democrat or sort of Republican only because they know voting third party is tossing your vote***. Therefore they are stuck picking the lesser of two evils. In politics they are called ‘Swing Voters’ and as the Tea Party showed in its early days, it comprises about 1/3 of American voters.

Tuesday, May 08, 2007 58% Say Competitive Third Party Good for USA

Monday, April 20, 2009 51% View Tea Parties Favorably, Political Class Strongly Disagrees

Monday, December 07, 2009 Tea Party Tops GOP on Three-Way Generic Ballot

Suppose the Tea Party organized itself as a political party. When thinking about the next election for Congress, would you vote for the Republican candidate from your district, the Democratic candidate from your district or the Tea Party candidate from your district?
        Democratic ………. 36%

        Tea Party ………….. 23%

        Republican ……… 18%

        Not sure ………… 22%

You can see why the Republican party wanted to kill the Tea Party AND FAST!

*** The MSM has been at great pains to herd Americans into two camps to prevent the formation of a Wild Card Party.

        • rah says:

Gail, you terminology was correct in the current press driven vernacular. I just felt compelled to put my opinion down on what the term REALLY means in realpolitic speech. No problem using their terms because people understand them. But a Big problem is people not thinking of what the language actually means. It’s connotations that is or it real meaning either both literally and/or in the practical sense.

        • rah says:

A little more on this concept. WE All of us pretty much, get conditioned to use words or define words or terms the way the press does even when they’re wrong.
For example lets take the term “reverse discrimination” It implies that discrimination by a minority against a majority is somehow different from just plain discrimination. Here in the US it implies to many on one hand “discrimination” is an act of a racism. But “reverse discrimination” is not!

Along those same lines “Affirmative Action”. We are told it is good thing when in fact is it racial or gender driven discrimination writ large. Discrimination against those that have shown ability or knowledge to obtain a given position in a school or an organization of business in order to give to someone less qualified because of their race or gender

        • gator69 says:

I worked with a family man who was black, and thought Affirmative Action was great, until he met me. I explained to him just what AF could mean if one of his daughters ever needed brain surgery. One or two more examples, and he was permanently done with AF.

      • … implies all others are immoderate …

Yes, it does. The term “political moderates” is just as stupid as “innocent civilians” or “innocent bystanders”, as in “innocent bystanders were hit by shots fired at the deputies” or “ innocent civilians were killed in an attack on an American army patrol in Afghanistan”.

The popularity of such language among left-wing journalists is not an accident. It’s stupid but it works.

”I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!”

        Barry Goldwater

    The Latest Rasmussen poll:

Do Voters Believe Obama Loves America?

    Tuesday, February 24, 2015

U.S. voters overwhelmingly say they love this country, but one-out-of-three doesn’t believe President Obama feels that way.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 35% of Likely U.S. Voters agree with this statement made last week by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani – “I do not believe that the president loves America. He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.” Just over half (51%) disagree with this comment, but another 14% are not sure….

By comparison, 92% of all voters say they love this country. Just two percent (2%) do not, with six percent (6%) who are undecided.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) believe the United States is more exceptional than other nations. Just half as many (28%) disagree…

The rest of the article is an interesting read.

  8. rah says:

Everyone knows that government money is given with the purest of intents but corporate money is always given with bad intentions. Right! Anyone that believes that shit doesn’t know a lick of American history.

My husband mentioned this is Preemptory Ad Hominem Attack A method to take out the scientists before the Ccongressional investigation that Steve mentioned.

  10. emsnews says:

I sent a warning to Judith Curry warning her they were going after her to get her fired.

They did this to my own FATHER, founder of Kitt Peak observatory systems, one of the founders of NASA, Dr. Aden Meinel when he told everyone that the sun is a variable star and that we are going into a Maunder minimum that will last more than 100 years.

  11. emsnews says:

By the way, the Democrats attacking scientists to tell the truth are in for a world of hurt because they no longer run either the Senate nor the House. The Republicans are going to strangle the global warming goose.

  12. emsnews says:

Ooops, can’t amend; ‘attacking scientists WHO tell the truth’….

This whole thing sickens me and reminds me of the pain my father went through before he died.

    • Gail Combs says:

There is nothing worse than watching an honest person being punished for being honest. Hopefully he has been amply rewarded for his honesty in the hereafter.

    • Keitho says:

Hi emsnews, it must have been awful for your father and your family after such a distinguished career ( I looked him up ). Do you have a link to his work on the sun being a variable star?

      Thanks.

  13. Barbara says:

It is widely believed by people in Grijalva’s own area of So. Arizona that he has always been covertly supported/funded by Mexican drug cartels/ illegal drug interests. I always try for the “positive” view , but the letters to scientists impugning their scientific credentials and personal morality really anger me. Who can hire someone to investigate Grijalva?

  14. Anthony Bremner says:

The problem with identifying the influence of the Sun is that the variation is small (1 watt per sq meter) and the effects do not show up for as much as 30 yrs later at the end of an ocean cool cycle when heat is finally released to the atmosphere. This makes it difficult to show correlation with temperature. From 1945 to 1975 when the world was cooling sunspot cycles were strong but the extra energy was buried in the oceans (Dr Bill Gray) only to be released on top of another 30 yrs of strong solar cycles. The cool cycles also overcame the buildup of Co2 proving that the ocean PDO and AMO cycles are stronger than both Co2 and the sunspot cycles in the short term as is being proved right now with only the Pacific in cool mode overcoming Co2 warming. When the Atlantic AMO cools in 5 or ten yrs we should see cooling with low sunspots helping. Asia is also helping to cool the planet with thousands of coal plants planned depending on how much pollution control they install. Part of global warming was the cleaning up of city skies after 1975 with the removal of Sulfur Dioxide from fuels and the introduction of catalytic converter in 1975. The collapse of the Soviet union reduced pollution there by 80%? Volcanic activity is another wildcard that some say will increase with global cooling (Casey) I think people will be wishing for some global warming just as many are right now in the USA.

Climate is a complex chaotic system that we are just beginning to unravel. The science has been set back by a couple generations or more by the wholesale brainwashing by the Eco-idiots.

      • rah says:

When it comes to climate I think we are at a place when Astronomy was someplace in between the earth centric and sun centric beliefs. IOW, this truck driver thinks we have a very long way to go before it gets put all together and in fact believes that even when we think we’ve got the basic scheme of things sorted out that we will learn to ask far more new questions than the old ones we think we’ve answered.

        • Gail Combs says:

As I keep saying when you can explain the abrupt 8 to 16C temperature changes of the Dansgaard-Oeschger events, then get back to me about CAGW.
